So instead of having the Kaos be a blowback, how about the hammer/bolt are actuated by a solenoid?
There would be a solenoid in the front and it just pulls the hammer/bolt forward, releases the air, and then the solenoid actuates the hammer/bolt back to the back position.

Or make it pneumatic, where it uses air to actuate the hammer/bolt instead of the solenoid.

Either way it sounds like a big waste of money but seems like fun.

There used to be a kit that almost does what you're saying. Dragun made it and it replaced your hammer with a pneumatic ram. The ram had a spring in it so it only needed a two way valve, basically apply air the bolt moves forward and opens the valve then stop applying air and a spring pulls it back.
You could probably recreate one without too many issues. All you need is a ram that you can get from clippard. The rest are Timmy parts. You could make it two way or spring reset

While that's a cheaper route, I'd rather tinker around.

I can understand your desire to tinker. Might I recommend buying a cocker?

I like cockers, they're really cool but there's a couple projects I have in mind currently.

Shego
Egomag
98 Ebolt
And electropnematic Kaos.

Sounds like a good plan. However from what I have been told a Dark/Maniac frame with the bottle opener works best.

Bottle opener, for opening bottles on the field.
I need to do more research on that, it sounds interesting.
