I think i want to look into one of these for a new camera/goggle cam. The #16 version seems to have insane quality and for the price i dont care if it breaks. Has anyone used one and if so, could you give your opinion on it as a paintball?

TL:DR - Need camera, too cheap/broke for contour/gopro

Location: Hong Kong.
That alone should tell you the quality of this $40 video camera.

I bought a similar micro-camera and attempted to use it.
Sound quality? Sucks ass.
Video quality? Sucks ass.
Battery life? Way too short.
Durability? Broke the second time I used it.

It's better to just have no camera than to waste your money on junk.

"But it's a good deal". But in all seriousness don't buy it. Just save up and buy a GoPro. You can find them pretty cheap used. I saw someone selling theirs for $70 used a while back.

That guy does reviews on them, i just cant be bothered to find them. They are actually very good cameras but I'm pretty sure the battery life isn't ideal for what you want it for, and mounting it would be awkward due to its shape.

Contour!!!! Drift has the screen on the side so you gotta be careful not to fuck it up by scratching it along a bunker and getting shot on it. Contour also has great battery life.

How many minutes or hours of shooting to you get? And what model?

Damn, for me, I usually only record about 2-2.5 hours, since by the time I get to the field it's pretty much half time already. But it goes on for much much longer, I believe up to 8 hours.
But I always charge the day before to avoid dying batteries. The Contour Roam is only $200, and I got mine with a free SD card. I like the slimmer profile compared to the GoPro, but the only problem is it adds about an extra inch to your mask, where as the GoPro can go on top. I put mine on the left since I snap right, and I don't want to get it shot and get me out just because of the extra inch.

wow i didnt know the tech improved so much sing i got my OG gopro haha

The thing doesnt even have a wide angle lens!!! But in all seriousness i might go the contour route since the gopro doesnt have side of mask mounting options...not to mention they're bigger and i hate barrel mounting.

Thanks Panda's Revenge for the info! Posted ImagePosted Image

Wide angle just makes the footage look like garbage IMO. I'd choose the cheapest contour over the most expensive GoPro any day of the week.
