vid is up -
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

wait so what happened on clean 2? lol. Standard deviation went all over the place aha

it seemed to break itself in over 4 cases then when you cleaned it, it went back up then continued down again.

Maybe it gets better the more you use it.

Maybe it never gets better. That data sure doesn't indicate a trend line to me.

first bit declines, then after the clean it spiked, then goes down. wish I could have seen the SD on the next 3 cases.

cleaning seems to add more variability then usage ... what does that mean?

Hm, not a bad amount of tests, though the results are quite confusing show no surefire results.

I'd say Clean 2 was the only outlier. All the others seem to be pretty much within tolerances. If you look at the data, all of it jumps around from 6-8 fps in SD. That seems pretty normal to me.

What I'd like to know is why such high SD's? Where the averages used with paintballs instead of Reballs? I've yet to experience such high numbers with Reballs unless there was a mechanical problem.

All chrono data is with real paint - and SDs of 6-8 are in what I would consider the normal range.

Never clean it! kidding... kind of. To bad this test wasn't as straight forward as the G6R. That was just to easy...

I'm not confused, I have been thinking for a while now that break-in periods are a myth.

I wonder if the "brake in" is more of a psychological nature then true brake in of the marker.
In the line of, people need to get used to and learn to use the marker.

And after you have tinkered with it a time, tuned it, adjusted it just right, it just feels that much better?

Or to ask in another way, what on a marker should have a need for a brake in?

They say the o-rings and stuff. Truth is I have bought a brand new cci phantom, put on a barrel kit for a nice tight match, and I've gotten the best numbers you can get over the chrono. That alone to me proves there is no such thing as a break in period.

Interesting stuff guys. I need to read the rest of these tests before I can make any semblance of meaningful contributions.

wait... so this test means that the NT11 break in dosent effect the FPS over time or it will always fluctuate like that even after many cases?

based on our testing cleaning the gun has as much or more impact as break in.
