Theres really no need for a marker that can run without batteries. A single 9-volt will last several days of play and is extremely simple to switch out if it runs out at the field.

E-Mags are amazing guns, but they have a relatively archaic design compared to more modern guns (though many will argue that's their charm).

The problem with guns like these is that many will argue that they're trying to appease two separate groups with one design. Some people (like me), just want a mech and don't need/want an electro, while many others just want an electro and don't/want a mech. So a gun that could function as either seems like a good idea at first, but ultimately boils down to a more-or-less pointless feature. If you prefer one mode, you'll usually only use it in that one mode so it'll make more sense to not spend money on a feature that you will rarely use.

The question is: why?
I don't see a reason to have an e-gun that reverts to mechanical. If I want to play with an electro, I'll use an electro. If I want to play with a mech, I'll pick up a mech.
If your battery dies, who cares? Walk off the field, and in 2 minutes you'll be good to go again with a spare. You should always have spare batteries after all.

Da faq? If you played any tournies at all you would realize that when your gun goes down due to low battery (which is pretty pathetic if you actually do play tournies) walking off the field and making your team play without you is the worst possible thing you can do.
To OP Tippmann crossover is the only one I'm 100% sure about

I was kind of hoping that tournament players would know better than to let that situation occur.
That, and it should be obvious that if you are in a tournament game, you are in the game until you're hit.
