I'm liking the first one, but i'd recommend to try and get the render to flow with the background just a bit more. Also, I'd use different text.

i prefer the second if you could get the white to be the off whiteish grey blue that techpb is. you can take a screenshot if you have to to get that colour. i like them both more than your current sig. good job:)

Well it all demands on the signature that you're making, but here's a great site for fonts.

Pretty good, did you follow any of those guides? You'll get much better results in my opinion, if you just follow one of those tutorials that I linked you to in one of my previous post.

Actually, I've been looking at www.gimptalk.com/forum which is a great forum for GIMP tutorials.
