Is the Proto Rail 2011 a good buy? I have the money for one. What are the pros and cons? tips and tricks to owning one?

Its a decent, solid buy. The pros are that it uses the rail system and that it has the ultralite frame. But for that same price, id look at the GoG extcy. Much nicer board, trigger, and comes with an on off asa, as well as a longer barrel which is easier to point, and a nice hard case. The ion system it runs off of is pretty smooth and efficient for a spool in its price range.

Can i just get a longer barrel for the proto? what barrel would you recommend? P.S.. your profile pic is funny

Yeah thanks. Well, you wouldnt want to spend any extra money on a marker now would you. But if you ever think of getting a barrel, id recommend Disruptive Barrels. Cheap, quiet, and high quality honing. But I would just stick with the extcy, for the sake of better value for the money.

That us a great buy, just make sure everything works. But well well worth it.

I would recommend the 2011 PMR, It was the first marker I ever bought and is simple to maintain and handles abuse only problem is it sucks the life out of batteries haha.

My brother used to have a Proto Rail and i have a GoG eXTCy. And the only thing i like better about the Proto Rail was the packaging.

Rail is one of the best low end guns on the market for 250. Not so accurate on the battery comment seeing as i shoot a rail and i shot 3 cases through it with the factory junk battery. Dont know much about the GOG guns but most of them are plastic

I'm not so much a noob, but recently bought a 2011 Rail and very happy with it. I haven't noticed any kick and it's fairly quiet, especially when compared to my Sypder RS or Stingrays.
