Just curious to figure out if ball sizing is worth it. Seems like a waste of money at the time, but I'd like to hear some opinions.
I hope you realize I don't care what you shoot because to me you're just another target on the field.

You don't need an underbore unless you use a closed bolt gun. That's where the ball is already in the barrel and the bolt is already forward ready to fire before the trigger is pulled (autocockers, amongst others). A proper underbore will also give a small boost to efficency. If you don't feel the need to have this boost and only shoot open bolt guns, then underboring may not be for you. I personally do it, but it isn't for everyone.

I run over bore on most my semis. And under bore my pumps (prevent roll outs).

In most cases I overbore just a little. I underbore my pump. I also underbore when I am just filling off of my scuba tank and I need a little more efficiency. underbore .003-.005 under what your paint size is and my velocity goes from 280 to over 300 so when turn it back down to 280fps I get about another pod off of a full tank.
There are 2 kinds of people in this world. Those who think they can and those who think they can't. both of them are right.

Underbore is ALWAYS better as long as you aren't breaking paint. The only reason not to do it is to help get rid of barrel breaks. Overbore kills accuracy, range, and efficiency. If you underbore and you are breaking paint, up the bore size until it goes away.

I have a hard-on for under boring, it's the only thing I've noticed that changed my accuracy by a ton.But I agree it's hard to justify the prices of barrels to do it. My team and I all had a bunch of different kinds of paint and every buddy had a spare barrel or two. we'd test out barrels with our specific paint that day and swap between each other's barrels for the day. Worked pretty well
If I didn't buy so many guns for the sole purpose of fondling them i'd be a very rich man.

Am I the only one that when they see FEP QUEST they read it as FAP-QUEST then chuckle silently?

I am a big underbore fan, for several reasons; better efficiency, smoother quieter shooting and better consistency. I am at a loss to understand why anyone would overbore?

Actually overboring is quieter and smoother. People overbore to just let you shoot more types of paint easier without risk.

i like underboring because i will never be convinced barrels dont effect accuracy. you can show me science all you want, i will never back down that a 16 inch underbored barrel will have an accuracy bonus

overbore when your using Terrible paint or White box rec paint. Underbore when your using quality paint.

I generally buy one barrel and call it good enough. I used to be close to a match but these days I'm overboring a lot just because I haven't gone out and bought smaller barrels.

The only gun I really worry about is my trracer. I use a Python compression kit to get a close match to prevent roll outs. Everything else has been good enough so far.

Someday, I may fall into the barrel kit trap but for now I'm avoiding it.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. It doesn't "kill" any of the above. There are many more factors that impact accuracy and range and the tiny bit of possible impact from overbore vs underbore is negligible at best.

Will you lose a little efficiency? Maybe, but nothing substantial.

I've never had any issues.
