now if they had it for the geo, then they would have an amazing platform for a milsim marker. But still, I really like where this is headed and I play speedball. Nice work PE Posted Image

Lol the longer I look at it, the more acceptable it is. Good thing I'm getting an Etha soon...

Why would you mount a red dot directly behind a hopper? seems rather pointless unless it helps you accurately press buttons on the hopper :P

For occluded sights. You look down the gun with both eyes open. One eye sees the dot, the other eye sees downrange, and your brain superimposes the two images onto each other, which puts the dot on what you see downrange. So, not pointless.

Not pointless, but I still prefer the Tac One setup.

I'm not looking to start a beef with you Cooky, I respect you but has someone from PE raped your dog or whatnot? You consistently show them plenty of hate.

For the haters, If you don't like it don't buy it. Simple as that. I think it's a smart move. PE is trying to target that market niche that might want something 'tacticool' that isn't a goddam Tippmann or BT (not hatin' on them, I think the Phenom and the TM-15 are great guns, they're not for me but I dig them.) Before the EMC announcement, I swear, I was looking at the Etha as a back-up/loaner and another 'tactical' gun that I can whip out whenever I need something I can mount stuff on (in Canada you must play indoors during the winter and you want a LED flashlight, trust me.) Now I can have both! Plus I prefer the sci-fi look over the 'real' milsim look. I think they did a great design job. Of course, I would have liked a single trigger frame and maybe a large 'tactical' grip that would have covered the reg, but I understand from a marketing perspective why they haven't gone that way.

Now, I think $100 is a tad too much. I mean we're talking about two plastic halves. $75 would be more like it.

I wonder how this will compare with the g1.. which seems to be its direct rival, similar price range( compred to like the tm-15) and it fills in that electro milsim niche..
i want one..still

I'd still shoot a g1 over this. Half the price of this kit and and etha, shoots better, albeit not quite as efficient. Use that saved money to tacticool it out.

I just think it looks stupid, like someone took a rifle and hotglued a Etha frame on the bottom, its not proportioned properly.

Why would they put a red dot in the picture when the feedneck clearly is in the way? Pretty there's not some crazy way to make that work without an elbow ._.

True, but it looks like clearance would be an issue with practically any loader/sight combination.
I'm surprised the holosight/Empire loader combo they picked worked.

I don't know if the G-1/SP-1 is decidedly better but it is an awesome gun, and yes cheaper too. I'll admit though that if I had to shoot brittle paint I think I'd rather have my SP-1 than the Etha. The thing is, I've heard that GOG ain't doing too well and they may not be around forever. Now if that is true, it would be the hell of a shame.

@ Cookybiscuit : I don't necessarily agree but the you way you phrased it made me laugh (in a good way) . Well, ok I kinda see what you mean -)

I still think it's a good move, but will it sell I dunno. More options is always a good thing. But most people that go for 'tacticool' choose their stuff based on looks and "realism". You could repackage the internals of the shittiest Brass Eagle gun you can find into a 1:1 replica of some assault rifle and droves of players would go apeshit over it.

I have no doubts that this will sell like crazy. After all isn't the Etha doing well now? More players play woodsball than speedball. Plus there are MANY who would like the milsim look with a mark that isn't as heavy as a tippmann and way more efficient.
I like it. I think it looks good. Have no intentions on pursuing one my but I can think of more than a few people I know that would be all over this. Different strokes for different folks
