So I have a an Olympus Pen EPL-1 and I wanna take some pictures at the field with it. o my questions are.
- Can my camera take a hit?
- If not, what should I use to protect it?
- What settings should I use.
- What should I bring to the field with me?

I wouldn't trust it to take a hit.
I'd say paint bags but when I think about it I've only tried that with my camera that takes hit with no problem so I can't say if it can protect your or not.
A tshirt should be sufficient though.
Lens trough the neck, your hands trough the arms and you'll see trough the bottom.
Works perfectly.

it will more than likely be fine. aside from getting shot directly in the screen or directly in the lens, i dont foresee your camera cracking or something.
you biggest concern should be to keep paint off and out of the camera.
bring some lens wipes and you'll be good.
