Why not make it an entire third party B/S/T ? Both parties send there stuff out to you or whomever youd give this job to, and have them ship it to the other party. This would allow for a ZERO possible chance of scam because the deal is put on hold until both parties comply with the terms of the deal. Im sure this would be somewhat of a hassle but this way the B/S/T wont be dead and no scams would take place. Of course this would require some sort of payment, maybe those $30 from members can provide for this or you could make it less so more members get involved. IDK I just think this would be nice, you could also tweak it if you want to make it work better.

Yeah I posted a similar idea a in a couple different forums here and never really got an official response to the idea. I think that is truely the only way to get 100% scam protection and it could be an optional service that either the seller or buyer could pay for or share the cost then the thread could be colored or something to show it's been confirmed etc. Someone else mentioned that you could also offer services at this point, like a integrity check etc at the same time considering it's already on location.

I support the idea of a Third party deal. But, if someone does not want to go through with it, then they should not be pressured. Afterall, you are trusting one person to follow through with a deal, to involve a second may be more than they feel comfortable.

Now as a recommendation, I do suggest that maybe there should be something stated that people who do conduct B/S/T deals get all contact info from their perspective partner, and verify it. Call the number(s) that are provided, check with other sources to assure that the address is legit and that the name given matches.

If someone does get scammed, I would suggest that there be a measure of proof given. When I was active on Pb Nation, I asked many times for people to take screen shots of their PM's, emails, and IM's with the suspected scammer. If "victim" won't do this, then the claim is worthless. If they can't, then hopefully they can learn how to take screen shots, or even take pictures of their screen with the info that they are trying to prove. Because I, or anyone else could easily claim that "aggboi47" scammed me, and claim that I have done the steps that were mentioned, like contacting the police and such, and what proof is there that "aggboi47" actually did a deal with me or whomever else?

I love your ideas and the security involved in this ;) I think it is very smart and is somewhat revolutionary I guess you could say,
because we've fixed all the bugs/problems with B/S/T's and put the best in ours, and taken the worst out. And only thru trial and error
can humans progress.

i have a question related to this, if your in the players club and do this through the Public BST and it turns out to be a scam, is the $200 insurance still applicable, or can this only be for the players club BST?

I believe it only applies if you're dealing with another Player's Club member, whether you're in the Public or PC BST I don't believe it matters.

I don't think that TechPB will be able to track down a non-players club member without the IP address or home address.

I'll hopefully be joining the Players Club as a birthday present. My parents realize that I like paintball, they see me on TechPB all the time, so, this might be what I want.

But I need to know like 3 great things that come out of joining the players club. Any help? It's all part of helping someone join the players club.

Sounds awesome Mike, Did you give any thought to my idea about people shipping the guns to you first for ultimate piece of mind and buyer protection? Also are we going to get a feedback thread going as well? I would also like to throw out the idea of getting more attachment space with the membership, any chance that could happen?

To add on to his idea or modify it if you will. I think you should have the guns sent to like kohn sports or like a few shops that can be trusted around the country and even internationally to ease the cost of shipping, or just a few of the TechPB elite that could inspect the guns to make sure they are working as described. And i dont mean to take an idea and just like run with it bc i usually like to think things through but just to put these ideas out there so they can be modified by other members as i am doing with the member above. I think the local shops thing would be so sick. For one local shops woul receive a bit of profit from this or reape some sort of benifit which is always good, bc the ppl that invest to meet our needs as paintball players are respected in my book always. And also certain shops could offer extra services like teching/cleaning/relubing the gun. Like putting all new orings in there and cleaning it to like good as new would be awesome, bc it would be just like getting a new gun, but used. Or if someone bought a PM7 or something and the 3rd party shop carried UL frames and the buyer planned on getting one to begin with. The shop can charge the buyer and install the part. This goes with all upgrades aswell, like a feedneck, asa, bolt, or like a reg for a tank or something, depending on the shop. And like with kohn sports, with it being a specialty shop they could have it sent to kohn, then kohns makes sure its working, cleans it if the package is wanted and then kohn can lazer it. So when the buyer purchases the gun they recieve it and dont have to worry about wanting to add this or that or get this done and worry about down time on there gun. I know i would rather play a weekend then have it sent off. It arrives just as they want and they dont have to worry about a damn thing after that. Same can be done with annodizing. The way i see it is like when a buyer purchases an item they have a choice from a provided list of shops and the packages/benifits they offer organized by region and then they pick that. Pay the fees. And just sit back and wait for their gun to come in. Bc i know this is going to be the new way to B/S/T your paintball stuff and its going to see alot of traffic, and it would be really time consuming for you to inspect all these guns. Which could take away from time spent with your fam, or trying to progress this sport even further. And this traffic could be channeled to bring in more revenue to local shops so we can see this sport grow even faster. And its easier to charge or create speculation on a business then one individual person, so i know i would feel a hell of alot safer. Well its just an idea that i had itching in the back of my skull. Let me know what you think mike, and everyone else. Bc im sure its the users feedback we are looking for aswell. Thanks for reading.

P.S. MIke im going to the tryout at kohns this sunday, so maybe we can talk more in detail there.

i really think that this is a great idea, im sure there are plenty of shops nationwide that wouldn't mind a few extra bucks in their business, and i really appreciate everything you have/are doing for the paintball community mike, its good to know that there are people like you out there that give a shit about this sport... keep up the good work!

Since now there isn't a PC only BST does the scam guard only apply to the transactions with other PC members or are there other rules?
