Hi, I own an empire axe, and ive been wanting to upgrade to a better barrel. I was wondering, what is the best bore size for the most and near perfect accuracy? and what company should i turn to for the barrel? Thanks, from Nick.

P.S.: HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!! :D

Accuracy depends on the cleanliness of your gun and the quality of paint.

i keep my barrel spotless, and as far as my field paint goes, it looks normal to me.

That's a suprise

Well, not much u can do then. Stock barrel should be fine unless u want to match the bore of ur paint for better efficiency, but that comes at a cost to, higher chance of a break

Nope, won't change anything.

A freak style barrel is definitely the way to go on barrels.

I love my ultralight barrels i have .688 and .684 backs they work great for me, Im also getting a deadlywinds with a .684 freak insert for my etek3 i borrowed my friends its a pretty sweet barrel i noticed a differance with it after adjusting the velocity.

For my Sp1 i have a CP 14" tactical barrel and thats a .685 bore and it works great.

Rhino is right though when its warmer and the paint swells a bit my cp barrel tends to break paint since its smaller and the ball is being forced through, you will get much better efficiency with bore matched paint I really saw that with my brothers old A5 w/ the straightline barrel (its rifled) and matching the backs to paint, didnt notica a huge differance in accuracy with the rifled barrel, should of spent the money on a barrel kit. And a5s are gas hogs but he had much better efficiency with matching the paint.

Have you looked at the tech T iFit kit? that maybe a route to go since the stock axe barrels are only 12" it would give you a 14" barrel and inserts to match the paint

try the TechT iFit Kit. Never really heard anything bad about it other than that the control bore isnt that long. But if you want consistency and efficiency its the cheapest way to go. For accuracy its most likely paint and dirt
Don't hate on my G4!
Current Setup:
Empire Axe in Gun Metal Grey
Dye Rotor
Ninja 50/4500

The control bore on the ifit is too small to change anything.

I have three barrels that are my go to barrels. The first is the cp dynasty champion barrel. It's an affordable 2 piece that has honning and porting. The second is the planet eclipse shaft4. It has one of the longest control bores in the sport. You can get a 4 piece kit on ans for under $200. It comes with 3 back an 1 tip. The last is the dye ultralight. All these barrels are great. I just bought the axe pro le pdd so after this weekend I'll tell you how the empire freak kit is.

The Empire Freak kit is the same as any other Freak kit, they all use the same inserts. For a Freak barrel, I would personally get a DW Fibur, with a full bore kit, or SP/GoG Freak barrel with a All American tip, and full bore kit.

Edit: The only reason to get an Empire Freak kit, is if you really want the Apex tip on a Freak barrel back.

I'd listen to tallsmallboy44 on the freak barrel. But I have the empire one because it comes with my axe stock.

Keep seeing people suggesting bore matching lately... thought we fixed that. But for those who don't know, that's the worst you can do. Better to underbore, or overbore. Go with a Lurker or Deadlywind with a small bore insert. Ultralights can be had for cheap used, way too large bore wise, but quiet barrels. My LAPCO Snapshot is the most quiet barrel I've ever used. Those are my suggestions. The iFit kit is a piece of shit, the bore lengths are to short to help. They have been tested and proven worse than other options.

So many DW fibur fanboys out there.
DW barrels are alright, there is nothing wrong with them but they just don't have too long of a control bore.
here are some barrels that will be better then any freak insert style barrel
Disruptive, Flasc, Planet Eclipse shaft 4, Critical 100g, Redz pepperstick, Thin Air GNB and Lurker Eigenbarrel.
Any of these ^^ will have a longer control bore then the DW fibur and there for be better for consistency and efficiency (provided that your underboring)

They'll be better, however not so much better that you'd be able to tell readily. The Freak kits are usually recommended because of the ease of changing bore size, as well as the relative inexpensive nature of the different bore sizes. You can get a complete barrel kit with sizes from .675 all the way up to .695 at the same cost as you could with any of those barrels and maybe 3 bore sizes. Granted, you don't need every single freak size available, however the Freak kit allows for much greater flexibility.
