What is a Gas Blowback tippmann

The "gas blowback" refers to how it operates. Pretty much all Tippmanns, except for the Phenom, C3 and TPX are blowbacks. When they cycle, the hammer is pushed forward by a spring, hits the valve, some air goes out the barrel to shoot the paintball, and the rest of the air travels through the back of the valve to push back the hammer, or blowing back the hammer to reset the gun. That's where "blowback" comes from.

This. The blowback is basically what resets the marker so you can shoot it again and is powered by leftover hpa or
co2 etc etc.

Basically ANY Tippmann other than the SL-68, TPX, Phenom, or C3.

The blowback on airsoft guns is only for effect so the action moves like the real thing.

Paintball blowback is part of the firing and recocking process.

Yeah when I heard blowback I thought of the cocking handle mod some people do to their a5s.
