If the reliability issues are fixed, this could be quite the hitter in the low ranges.
But if not, well, let's just say I'm not too fond of DP for more than their non-existing CS.

This is definitely something I would wait for. Let them sort out any problems that may occur at first, and then buy it when theyre fixed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they never bothered to fix the OOTB issues with the G4 so why would we think they would fix any issues with this marker?

I like the looks of this marker but if a company doesn't fix known issues (that can be fixed) with a product it's kind of hard to have any faith in any of their products.

Im curious about the low pressure frame, are they requiring an LP tank or is it just marketing.

Although I will not be surprised to see Low pressure tanks to become standard in the next few years as more and more companies ditch macro and no longer be sold at a premium.

At my local store the employee said that an HPA tank will work with the marker

Yes any gun will work with Hpa. Except I think there was one that did not do so well with hpa. It was old though, I don't remember the name of it.

It makes me sad that even the companies who produce entry-mid range markers are going macroless but PE still can't take that leap of faith.

They'd probably have to beef up their "safety" frame a bit to get air-thru transfer holes, then it wouldn't be such a "safe" frame any more.

Haha I lol'd

I think PE and Dye are too scared to produce something that flops. But this thread isn't about them so props to DP for taking the leap, but I'm guessing the talk around the drawing board on the G5 was something along the lines of "Well, players will trash talk no matter what we produce, so what's the worst that could happen?"

My apologies I read what you wrote completely wrong.

Dangerous Power did eventually figure out their bolt stick issues. I feel as though this gas through may cause a few more as well and well have to see if theyll step up to the plate.

Seems about average efficiency for a gun in this price range. If it shoots well and feels good in the hands and is problem free, then it might be worth picking up if you're on a budget. It's still tough to beat the efficiency and shot quality of a mini/axe, so those might still be a better value and have been proven for years.

Dangerous Power should release their guns in summer, that way it takes at least a couple months for people to start complaining about bolt stick....
Unrelated, the efficiency has improved some, and that was done in cold weather. Looks like a good gun for the price

To anyone wondering about how loud it is, its been decent when I've shot it. Probably slightly quieter than a Mini. And kick is about the same as a Mini. So overall the efficiency is the one thing that would make the Mini or Rail better. I haven't tested it out yet but I'll tell you guys once I get the chance to.

I think it's a good design improvement. I never had any serious issues with my g4 except having to wiggle the macro line to get it to stop leaking Before my first round of paintballing. Once that is taken care of it always shot like a champ. It's a good light shooter. I would expect the 5 to be just as good with any packaging issues they had in the past with their lube taken care of.
