I know that PE themselves want buyers to upgrade to the AM frame for an upgrade board, but i think this leaves a great hole in the wall for tadao to make an upgrade board for the LT frame, correct me if i am wrong.

I think you are completely on target! PE didn't want the extra costs of going with 2 different boards so this creates an opportunity for a competitor to fill in the gap.
I think a lot of LT owners would jump at the chance to upgrade their board to one with a digital display without also having to upgrade to a AM grip.
