Well I am stuck here at home still all busted up from a accident in September. And I been messing about with my markers to keep occupied. And it got me thinking about what it is in a paintball marker I look for and then got me curious what the masses here thought.

For me it comes down to RELIABILITY DURABILITY AND SIMPLICITY This leads me to my preference to mechs and pumps. About the only gun that I ever owned that does not embody all those things is maybe my DP E1 but even it has never let me down and as far as electros go is about as simple as they get. And it does have a great solid feel to it but I have had the on/off leak after a long stint of non use (fixed with a simple lubing of the orig in the on/off assembly. But my single most favorite shooters have always been Automags and for those three things I dew riper I don't think there is a better choice.

So what bout you all what you. Look for most. And do you thing your gun or guns fit what you look for normally

For me ergonomics comes first; if I don't feel comfortable holding the marker I get annoyed.

After that is air efficiency, then looks maybe. The rest doesn't really matter much to me.

Character, then maybe reliability and headache factor of setting up. Its shitty having a gun that I need to replace parts on or buy specific tanks and loaders for.

1 - Reliability - If the marker doesn't shoot, it's worthless.
2 - Ergonomics - The way the marker feels in your hand makes a HUGE difference not only effectiveness but also confidence which is a big deal.
3 - Price - We all have a budget
4 - Looks - Who wants to spend a tone of money on an ugly marker?
5 - Durability - I'm not very rough on markers so this usually isn't an issue.

all depends on what im feeling. I like having good efficiency, shot quality, ergonomics and reliability, but no one gun excells in every way so i just get something cheapish and use that till i dont want to use it anymore

Reliability, simply for the fact that the last 3 guns I've brought to the field either did not work or didn't work correctly. Next would be upgrades, either aftermarket or out of the box that fit my style of play. I love mine now.

Depends what I'm looking for.

If I'm looking for a gun, it's usually a specific kind.

So I find the color of the gun I want, it usually looks good. I like shiny things. They call me The Crow.

Then when I get it my opinion changes for the better or worse depending on shot quality and efficiency.

I'm surprised no one has said the trigger. That is one of my top priorities when looking for a marker. Who wants to shoot with a mushy trigger haha?!

basically how much room for improvement the platform has. Like I would never get an autococker because the platform has been expended and it won't get much better than it already is. I'm even hesitant about poppets.
