for anyone who knows me they understand my love for knives. i have several "pocket" folders and like to carry them with me where ever i go (excluding schools, airports, etc.)its nothing excessive. either a kershaw skyline, or a zero tolerance 0200, both smaller and quite useful/manageable blades. after consulting my uncle, a current RCMP officer, i know that both of these blades fit within the parameters of the law and are legal for me to carry. however both of my parents are against me carrying these knives out in public. in my mind a knife is a tool, not a weapon, if i ever need to get into something i can pull it out cut it extremely easily and conveniently. but whenever i talk to them about it they seem to think that it is a weapon and i will use it as a weapon, and get somewhat angry if they find out that i had it when i went out with some friends even if it never comes out. just in some situations it makes life a lot easier rather than clawing at something with my fingernails or digging in my wallet for my house key to be able to try and poke something. it just seems unfair that they won't let me carry it even though it's 100% legal to do so.

opinions?

It's all about the game and how you play it, All about control and if you can take it
All about your debt and if you can pay it, It's all about pain and who's gonna make it

Stop worrying about how you look, and start worrying about how you play. Get out on the field and play paintball the best you can, not stand at home in front of a mirror trying to figure out if your jersey matches your eyes.

This.

My mom and all of my 30 cousins feel that my at 0560 is an overkill. I just carry it because my bench made 556 is too small for my edc.

At 0560*

Just carry it, who cares. I highly doubt they'll start patting you down to keep you from carrying it.

Well what about cardboard?

I personally use this

Or when I have friends over

And when I have to cut through double layered cardboard with tape I always bust out this not so scary looking knife that my grandma bought at the local marina.

Now it's just bull shit. I want to go out with some of my friends and my mom says "no knives" well why not? "because you won't need it" what the fuck, how do you know if I wil have to cut something or not? apparently of I need to cut something I hav to go upstairs and get a knife from the kitchen, why? It's do much easier to have a small knife in my pocket. They even said if I can't follow the "rules" they're going to take away my knives. Rules? Why the fuck do you think I bought these knives, to look at them in my room? No, I bought them to use them. Not just for camping or whatever the fuck, to use them everyday for what I need, if I wasn't supposed to be using them it would be against the law. But guess what, it's not. So what the fuck is their problem with it? I asked and it has nothing to do with my maturity, nothing to do with my age, I know a hell alot more than them about knife safety and care. Apparently it's the potential to be used as a weapon that's the problem. I could use a fucking screwdriver to kill someone, a fucking hammer, a fucking lathe chisel, all of which are tools, so what's the big fucking deal about a 3" knife?

I carry a knife everywhere I go, including school. I've never had anybody view it as a weapon, or any problem with it.
It's a tool to most people, and the people who view it as a weapon are the guys who let their mother decide their clothes.
