Hi, im new to paintball. I went paintballing once and just love the sport. So i been watching mike's videos and did some research. Im thinking of getting me a set because i live in waverly which is southern Ohio so there is a lot of woods lol
So i was wondering if the set up i picked is good.
I chose:
2012 Spyder Victor (because it have a eko valve system)
A V-Force armor mask
And im deciding wether if i should get a 48/3k tank first and a regular cheap hopper or get a Empire overdrive DB loader with a 20oz CO2 tank and upgrade to a 48 or 50/4500 tank when i have like 150 dollar lol
So can you guys help me decide please? Thanks :)

Oh and also shoul i get a CP 1 piece .693 spyder threaded 14" barrel now or later?

DO NOT GET A SPYDER.

Save up for all of your gear so it is cheaper in the long run. You will have nothing but problems with spyders but a lot less with the mech ones.

Why would you need a new barrel? Unless your paint bores out REALLY BIG then there is no point espically if it is spyder threaded.
The order of which you buy your gear should be Mask>Tank>Hopper>Marker.

Also look into buying used because you can find some amazing prices for markers especially on TechPB's B/S/T/ and PBNation's B/S/T/.

Honestly forget about the spyder and forget about the co2 tank. What is your budget looking like? If you can't get a 4500 a 3000 is fine for a little bit. Unless you go on the bst here and buy a 4500 for cheaper. As far as the gun wold you want to buy new or is used fine?

Paintball is a ridiculously expensive sport. You haven't truly fallen in love with it until you start spending a ton of money and not regret it.

I recommend you don't cheap out and just get a decent set up, none of that "oh I'll buy cheap and upgrade later". I would pick up a used carbon fiber tank from swapmytank (link to the site is under this post). They sell 45/4500 and 68/4500 in full hydro for around $100, it's a steal, and most of their tanks come with Ninja regs. Next I recommend a hopper, probably an Empire Halo Too for $85. As for the mask, the V-force armor is ok, I have one and it's fine, you're not going to die because you don't spend $80+ on a mask. It's easy to remove the lense, pretty comfortable, I recommend you upgrade the lense to a thermal lense. Next I would buy a decent pair of pants, jersey's aren't necessary.

As for the gun, I would try buying used, check craigslist, the B/S/T, or ebay. Don't get a spyder, they aren't bad guns but you'll outgrow it in a few months. Try finding a used Rail, Etek, maybe an older Ego or Matrix if you don't mind the weight.

The whole setup should total at around $350. Yea, it's a lot of money, but if you seriously want to get into the sport it's the best way to go.

If you only have $150, a good idea for now would be to buy the mask that you want, and then continue to save and rent for a while, and progressively buy quality equipment. You'll be much happier in the end if you decide to buy all quality instead of buying cheap and eventually buying something better because that's a huge waste of money. No matter what you buy, don't bother buying a new barrel, it's not going to increase your performance in any way; don't buy "upgrades" before you even have a good setup.

Just saying dont go with the spider i have used it a couple time and experienced some problems with it, you need/want a marker that will be perfect for your fit and wont run into problems in the long run. The rest of the setup you stated is fine, you can easily replace that in the future, but invest your money into another marker.. Go to your local paintball shop and test out other markers. Ask them what problems has "Said Marker" has been known to have. hopes this helps!

What he said. I played with a friends azodin and loved it. Dumped a bunch of money into a blitz and ups. Had to wait a long time to even have enough money to play often and after I had gone out a few times I realized the blitz wasn't keeping up with guys that had spent less then me overall. I spent 400 over time to get a gun that gets smoked by 200$ used mid and super guns.

I would look into saving up more money first before you get a setup. I've given a lot of advice to new guys about buying gear, and I realized that the best thing you can do is just save up. Get a huge sum of money to spend. it makes things SO much easier.
GoG enmey
any 68/45
empire scion
and events or eflex's

then get a pod pack that fits well and pants that are comfy.

this setup will perform well and consistently, skip the spyder, I hated mine. Unless you know what you're doing they're really annoying. And skip the barrel upgrade, it's useless unless you have a freak

Glad you chose our sport! Hopefully we can give you some actionable information.

Lots of folks have already chimed in on this, but I figure I would give my two cents. If I were you I would first purchase a thermal lens mask. If you have a local store try on their different models, find one you like, and no matter the price buy it (or save up and buy it). With proper care it can last you a very long time. If I may make a further suggestion get a thermal mask that has two panes of plastic. There are thermal lenses (VForce Grillz) that have a thermal coating on the inside of them that work great until you touch them, and have to reapply some sort of anti fog coating / spray. I prefer the dual pane lenses, but they are a bit more expensive in most cases (JT Proflex / Empire EFlex are the best buys). Pay more now to get the comfortable, none foggy mask that looks the way you want now. It will be money well spent.

I would recommend on a budget the Proto Rail. It is a cheap, reliable marker with a lot of features that the higher end markers have. Unfortunately my experience has been when you low ball yourself in price on a marker you get what you pay for. I agree with the other people that have posted if you get a super cheap marker you will only be frustrated, and feel that you have wasted your money. Listed below is a pretty good starter package, but again I do not know your finance situation.

I hope that all of this has helped, and I hope you keep up with the sport. Good luck!

If money is tight... Playing Paintball is better then sitting at home. I started with a spyder imagine and loved every min. Of play. After a few years I ugraded. Do what you have tp do to just go out and have fun.

Ignore a barrel for now.

First of all i wanna thank you all for taking your time and giving me options/opinions. And all of it helped me a lot.
I have a few questions tho. Let's say i wont be updragding my guns because idk how. So would kaos be good for a couple or few years? And which kind of Azodin should i get?
And also i saw mike's vid on what size tank to get. He mentioned about how a 50/4500 would be good for someone about 5'2" so does anyone have a good used 50/450 tank for sale?
Thanks guys
