Bryce this quality on this may be to bad. You can kinda see the stream. Its 360p unfortunately i dont have a HD camera. I dont think i beat the 26 bps anyways but could you try to goldwave it just to see what it capped out at? Ill have a ego9 at the end of this weekend. Im gonna try that and see if i can get faster. I thought i would have it by this weekend but i was not able to get it.

I'm pretty sure I could beat all of these numbers except the stock class if I had the time to put into acquiring the right markers.

*Edit* and the RT, I don't think I could beat that one

Did people just give up on these numbers?

I was just reading through this, very cool. Does anyone know how to answer why the Rotor is bottlenecking on high end electros and performing no where near its advertised bps?

Obviously dye is relying on that people don't want to shoot that fast anymore with capped psp, etc, still very disappointing :/

According to hill,

"The current limiting factor to the average user in the speed king contest is the board programming. Not the hopper. I have shot a rotor at 35 bps with 4 batteries in it and 30 bps completely stock. If you want to shoot really fast all you need is a UT board and a (insert top end marker). The eye timing on most boards will not allow you to get faster than 26-28 bps even with a Q loader. I have seen a Q loader shoot 35+. Then you turn the eyes off and a 15 to 25 bps cap is imposed on the marker that you can not over ride.

Its not the eyes or the hopper being in sink, its the board programming in respect to minimum back pulse timing or ball in place eye delay times that the user has no way to adjust beyond a certain point. Yes thats right, even with the eyes off there is still back pulse delay times you cant adjust that limit how fast it will cycle. Unlike the UTB. which can go up to 50 bps eyes off. And many high end markers from the past will cycle in the 30s.

The reason the record is 26 and not way higher is a lack of competition."

sounds like a lot of talk ^^^^

i get what he is saying, but lets see the video!
The ultimate truth in paintball is that the interaction between the gun and the player is far and away the largest factor in accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

When you say "many high end markers from the past will cycle in the 30s,"
any ideas on when that cuttoff is, presumably when the manufactuerers moved away from caring about pure bps as the focus shifted to capped modes?

Also, I wonder if anyone has tried running a 9v battery in a rotor? If he's using 4 AA batteries thats 6v instead of the stock 4.5v.

Lol yeah I'm guessing 18v will severly decrease the life of the electric motor rated for 4.5v, I would not recomend that. :P

It looks like the batteries are wired in parallel, which means it is 9v and not 18v.

It seems a lot of people gave up on this, but I still find it interesting and I think we can still get better numbers, especially in the elctro category. I was thinking while watching a video that Cockerpunk posted a long time ago about the Rainmaker. He talks about dwell and its effect on top cycle speed. My Vice runs on 5ms dwell so its cycle time should be remarkably fast and with a fresh pillow in my pillow bolt and the fact that I run my LPR at 68psi should prevent breaks. Right now my only limiting factor is that I only have a Pinokio and Reloader B, I'm not sure which will be faster. Any ideas? I figure a q-loader would probably be the best for this competition.

PS: anybody have any experience with the upgrade board for the Pinokio that the folks over there sell, the claim it increases the bps by reasonable number and I am interested to heard someone's experience with it shooting uncapped.

Back from the dead!

Has anybody else seen these Dye vids from a few years back? They claim 40bps with a rotor and a modified DM8 with the eyes turned off. I'm not sure if it would count because there are no chrono shots.

yes, I have seen them. I've been curious what they did to the gun and loader.
