As I said before, I can see the appeal in collecting, but personally I thinks its a waste of money to have more guns than you will use.

It isn't losing money if you buy them when they hit their rock bottom in price or get them at stupid low prices that even below their bottom price. That is what we did to get all the guns we have. It is amazing sometimes the prices you can get on things. I don't think we spend over $15/gun for all the spyders we bout to use as loaners when we play. And we have over 30 of those alone.

Any Sheridan KP series, Tippmann SMG 68s, AGD X-Mags, Some rare cockers etc. they are out there, but that being said I don't see paintball guns being an investment.

I have my comparatively small collection causes I like different styles of guns. I also hang on to things my pro/carbine, PGP2, And Classic Mag are guns I have had new since the late 90s. I keep those around for memories sake, mostly they hang on the walls theses days but I do try to use them each at least once a year in game and now and then in the back yard shooting targets.

Then I think 3 markers brought to the field to be just about perfect (Pump, Mech Semi, Electro Semi). My self I bring along one more mech semi for when I want something with a bit more range or something I can run on Co2. It's also one the markers I don't mind lending out.

I didn't necessarily mean new, but there are still a fair-sized handful of guns still going for as much as or more than they did new. Loo Ducks, Taso BE90s, Shocktech SFL E-Mags, some Sheridans, some Lapcos, some Matrices, even some 'cockers.

As for used, the list really opens up. I could sell many of the markers in my collection for at least as much as I paid for them. The 'cocker market specifically is really picking up steam in recent years.

On an individual basis, markers do lose value. With only a couple exceptions, I could not sell any for more than I paid.

But the collection itself has an intrinsic gestalt, when you put them all together they are worth more than each of them separately.
The sum of the whole is greater than its Parts.

My collection is modest compared to some folks I know...
You have to understand, I've been picking this stuff up for 25 years. Just the pile of magazine subscriptions weighs over
1/4 Ton.

I have 19 markers at the moment.. The newest being a TPX and the oldest being a Nelspot carbine (Not a 007). 90% of them are older than I am.

I can understand why people think that having one marker is the way to go. But me I like variety. Right now I have a DAM and an axe le pdd in my possession. I have a marq7 on the way as a project gun and an ego11 for my fiance a birthday present. I sold my Etha today because a friend of mine is trying to get back into the sport and my fiance definitely doesn't understand why I have multiple guns. But sadly soon I will be trying to sell my dam here. Not because I don't like. I love my dam. It's just I love my other markers more. I don't wanna sell it but let's face it. Weddings are expensive. I do plan on starting to collect more guns after my wedding. I'm definitely gonna get a geo3 with next years tax return.

I'm with the majority here. Even the most expensive marker can have its day, i like to have 2 of everything! 2 markers (currently have about 8..gotta sell some lol), 2 hoppers, 2 tanks, 2 masks. If anything goes wrong then you have a back up on the spot.. instead of having to completely strip a gun and then do some trial and error trying to figure out whats wrong while everyone else plays without you.

I went to jaegers in KC (great place by the way, awesome staff and great people, didn't play sadly) but I held a geo 3... Man I miss my planet. But I agree, I think now, owning 2 wouldn't be a bad idea just in case my DM took a shit on a random day, which I hope doesn't happen but still.

Another question thouhh. Do you guys ever buy a gun and then play with it a few and feel like you made a bad purchase? But yet you enjoy the gun?

I used to be a big collector and owned several guns that I thought were interesting and wanted to try them out. At the time, I found it fun and it made me quite happy. Now however, I have no need or want for a vast majority of them and I will agree that a lot of that money could have been put to better use.
However, I don't really regret doing so as it has taught me a lot about different paintball guns and what I prefer most in them. To me, it was a learning experience. I didn't just buy a bunch of guns, I also bought a bunch of knowledge on them and myself that couldn't really have been obtained through other means.
