Well from the looks of it you will need to play a LOT longer than you have so far if you plan to go pro. If you aren't even sure how to start a team, and you don't know the Division Levels, you need experience.

Don't expect to go pro anytime soon unless you're already D1 or D2.

Going up from the ranks of D6 to Pro takes about 5 years minimum. And even with that there is a huge financial asset you must have. You have to be able to travel 3+ hours on fridays and practice all weekend long and then drive back. Not to mention some of your tournaments and even some practices you will have to fly to get there.

basically every tournament you get points, and even points bumps you up in division.

Most new players and teams start out playing local tournaments. The entry fees are lower than regional and national tournaments, and they're more likely to offer D6/5/beginner/rookie levels. As the player/team finds success, they'll move up to higher divisional play, and play in more competitive tournaments at the regional or national level.

Get team or join a team in a d5 or d4 level and play a psp or nppl tournament... If you do we'll you're team may want to move up to the next division whenever you see fit. Or you may get picked to play for another higher divisional team. Do well enough and get better and plenty of teams hold try outs. Matt sossoman played d1 for years here with the jesters and finally tried out for vicious
just smile =)

There is just 1 or 2 things you need to know.

pro player = Enough motivation and dedication in order to travel (mostly) and play paintball non-stop (no time for full job or studies)

pro team = Money to pay the equipment, the paint, the travels, the hotels etc.. for all the players.

So if you find 9 other dudes ready to put they're jobs and/or studies aside for paintball and the money (and time) to pay those dudes 3-4 days of practice and tournament per week, then you have your "pro team".

^^

So how is it that I still see pro players on rec ball or just playing speedball (non-practice), and that even jrab is going to school now. How is there no time for it?

Yeah there are a lot of pro players that are doing college, Jrab being an example. Or Dalton Vanderbyl from Dynasty.
