Empire Scion Paintball Hopper - Black
The Scion is the newest addition to the Empire line of hoppers. The scion takes popular features from the Halo Too and the Prophecy Z2 and combines them into one awesome loader.

Features:
  • Infrared Break Beam activation
  • New drive cone for more consistent feeding; based off the successful Z2 loader design
  • Self Monitoring Drive Speed, similar to the logic used on the Z2 loader
  • Saves battery life
  • Prevents Pop-corning of paintballs
  • More consistent feeding, so the marker is never starved of paintballs
  • Auto Jam Clearance
  • Scion senses a jammed paintball and reverses to clear the jam
  • 6 Adjustable speed settings
  • Tool-less Battery Door
  • Includes a Rip Drive for manual advance or reverse of the ball stack
  • Integrated Freeway Anti-Jam
  • Works very well with Reballs
  • Compatible with standard Halo accessories and shells, such as the Quick Load lid

I wonder if "infrared sensors provide automatic ball jam clearance" is a legit reverse the motor auto-unjam, or if that's just fancy talk for it'll pulse the motor when it thinks there's a jam.

Oh boy, they fixed the battery door issue on the Halo and called it an entirely new hopper, whoopee. :dodgy:

Ah I'm just kidding, I like Empire stuff, and it looks cool. Will be nice to see if they offer it in purple. :D

Another halo/ reloader-b...

How many reincarnations of halos have we seen over the years? Not that it's a bad thing, halos are great loaders.I just think renaming it something different is kinda stupid. Especially considering Scion is a car manufacturer. So I don't know why they would choose Scion... Like, seriously? Scion? Why Scion?

There's two main changes I can see right off the bat: Tool-less battery door, and break beam eyes in the feedneck, instead of the reflective setup of years past. What is interesting to me however, is the "infrared sensors provide automatic ball jam clearance."

Just point that out, since it seems like most of you aren't seeing the features list behind it.

I think I'll stop saving for a spire/'13 rotor and just save ~$80 for this

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe KEE/Empire is finally dropping Invert as a brand and incorporating everything into the Empire name.

Don't forget JT, i'm thinking everything is going to be Empire, or JT, as I haven't seen anything new from Invert.

I wonder how they can use the name scion without toyota suing them. I understand its 2 entirely different things but generally big companies guard their names with their lives.

To be honest, I think it'd save a lot of confusion just to put everything under the Empire or JT names.

Kee already dropped Invert, and they've been making them as the Empire Too. We used to sell the V-max as our main hopper to sell people, but switched to the Empire Too because the V-max was shit. We're kind of a budget field in an area where paintball isn't that big, so the Empire Too is about as expensive as stuff gets out there.

This looks to be in between the Too and Z2.

Scion may refer to:

  • Lineal descendant (of a notable family), a son or daughter
Scion is not just a name someone at Toyota came up with, and there are many different products already with that name. In this case, the definition I listed seems to fit with the new hopper.
