For me,I always thought the axe had POS ergos coming from a mini, but then I held one and now am in love with it.Its odd because they look to be the exact same, but I think it may have been the size difference. And,as has been stated above,it is an amazing marker. But,before you ever buy a new or used gun,I suggest you download the manual on a computer and get to know the marker before you even hold it.Also, try to see if anyone at your field has one that they will let you hold. That is how I fell in love with it myself.

Sorry, got it backwards. Oops.
I hope you realize I don't care what you shoot because to me you're just another target on the field.

If it came down to Axe vs Reflex then that is poppet vs spoolie in which case we all know how that ends. I am going to say buy a used high end. If you are looking for a gun to use for tournaments, it is going to get beat up. If you buy used, not only are you going to save money but you do not have to worry about your gun getting beat up as much, because of the fact that you saved money. If you buy X gun and pay $1300 for it, you are going to baby the piss out of it. If you buy x gun used for $700 you are going to not care as much when the frame gets bent and you have to get a new gun. Anytime someone is looking for a tournament gun I recommend buying used because of this reason.

huh that's actually a great point! I will look at used high ends on the B/S/T then too.

I have one sitting right next to me and I don't have a bad thing to say about it.

I need a gun that has a good trigger and is good for any speedball and airball type tournaments I. So is it good for that?

I can compare the drone and axe, since i have owned both. I currently own the axe, and like it a little better. below is a quick review of what i think are pretty important things for a gun

Shot: I have the axe with the boss bolt, and the difference in the shot is so minimal that i can't really say the drone shoots that much better.
ergos: Amazingly, i actually prefer the ergos of the Axe, The drone feels really boxy in my hand holding the trigger frame and this doesn't allow me to wrap my thumb around the back of the trigger frame. My hand kinda just rests on the trigger frame.
Trigger: The Axe trigger is AMAZING!!!!!!!!. So light, so easy to walk. Super smooth. THe drone trigger is grainy and rather noisy. Has side to side movement.

Trigger is preference, I like it, but I also don't play competitive paintball...there's nothing in that for me. I can walk the trigger all day, and shoot 12-15 bps the whole time...it's not an issue for me.

I like it. and it's reliable, I've never had it leave me sit out a game.

I may go with the invasion just because it sounds just as quiet as the axe and it has an actual case!

I am going to say do not get an Alien Invasion because for $500 you could just get a G6R (2011) or an older Ego, Marq, Victory...etc. Also, the Alien Invasion has a sharp block under the lpr and it is annoying.

I haven't heard anyone mention the alien invasion yet....

EDIT: And then I look up.... where is the delete button?
