What ever happened to the trend of raking the trigger? I remember it was a pretty big thing for the first few years that I started playing and it started to slowly disappear. Now its not even heard of and I kind of forgotten about it until the other day. But what ever happened to having rake able triggers and such?

Is this different than walking the trigger?

Really? Well its when you move one finger up and down the trigger instead of front to back hitting every bump on it (rake able triggers had bumps on them) and would shoot the gun every time you hit a bump, going up and down.

Some of them looked like the trigger on the left. My link

Like how you would shoot mags?
You would vibrate your hand on the trigger I believe, or something like what your talking about

Not really vibrating your finger, like moving it up and down the face of the trigger hitting the peaks on it. Where as just walking the trigger you would simply pull it back.

I get what you're saying now, but I also see why nobody does it anymore. It's just easier to walk the trigger.

Yea if your not used to the feeling I can definitely see how it would be easier to walk it, but I knew people who could hit 17+ bps EASY even faster on good days. Even I can shoot faster with a good rake trigger than I can just waking a good "normal" trigger, and I can hit 15 bps on my average.

Yea I guess it would be more practical in a rec game now days although it wouldnt be very hard for a back man to use that style in a tournament either.

Well back in they day there was no ramping and PSP settings and what not. Really was a different time. But I always thought that the rake triggers were weird looking. It's like you put all 4 fingers on the trigger cause of the grooves.

Yes I know what raking is, I did play in that era. but when you look at the picture (the exact trigger I was talking about) someone who has never raked might look at it and assume you walk it with 4 fingers lol.
