Hey guys, I'm starting to get back into paintballing. I've haven't played in over 2 years haha and i decided to take out my stuff from my gear bag. I own a Dangerous Power G3, the original one, and i wanted to shoot it for fun. Well, the battery i left in there was dead so i replaced it and the gun turned on and was fine. However, i turned the eyes off and pulled the trigger and i did not hear the solenoid click, as i know this should happen. I don't know what the problem is.. it could be my trigger, optical switch, or my solenoid. I screwed my tank into the gun and i could hear air flowing through it from the bolt, so air is getting through it fine. I adjusted the screw on the trigger and still didn't hear a click. I'm beginning to think it is the solenoid itself, but i could be wrong since i'm only starting to get back into paintballing and i'm basically a noob again haha. I have a G3 parts kit too with an unused solenoid that i could possibly use as a replacement if my old one doesnt work. I also tried to take the frame apart but the screw near the trigger is on too tightly and i am afraid to strip the screw. Could the problems have been created from not using the gun for so long? Any help would be appreciated as i want to get playing again!! Thanks!

If you've still got the stock trigger and board, it's possible that the reflective fang on the trigger isn't reflecting the beam back to the receiver. Maybe try cleaning/polishing that and see if that helps. If that still doesn't work, I've heard of some people putting foil on the fang to make it as reflective as possible. If it is the solenoid instead, maybe put a drop of oil at the front of the gun where the reg screws in at the air transfer holes. That way, when you air it up next, some of that oil might work its way into the solenoid and free up the spool if that's the problem. If all else fails, it's possible that the solenoid is in fact dead.

ok thanks man, i'll try it soon and i'll let you know what happens! do i have to remove the trigger from the frame in order to do that? because that one screw is in there so damn tight hahah

Yeah, you'll have to get the frame off. While you're in there, take a q-tip and give the sensor a bit of a swab as well, just to be sure.

alright, should i take the little black box covering the sensors off or no?

You don't need to worry about that, and the sensors are probably fine already. It's usually just the fang that's the issue.

you were right, its the trigger! i got a small piece of tinfoil and flashed it over the sensors and heard clicks! now i just have to take the actual trigger out.. but one problem.. the screw near the trigger won't come out! im afraid i'll strip it! any suggestions? i might just take it to my local pball place and have them take it out

The actual trigger screw, or the frame screw? Do you have the right size allen keys for them?

the one for the frame, closest to the trigger.. yes i have the proper size, it's just in there really tight!

If it's the right size, it shouldn't strip. Sometimes you've just got to give it some effort.

ok hahah my dad told me that it might strip but i guess he's wrong.. after i get it off and fix up my trigger, i'll give you an update!

Yeah, if you've got the right size allen key in the screw, it's a lot harder to strip than normal screws. That doesn't mean it's not possible, I just don't think you'll strip it.
