So I traded a mini for an 08 pmr last year and when I got iti shot it it worked great then I went to take the bolt out after to clean and lube it and i ripped two orings on the bolt. Then a few weeks ago im changing th board settings and i ripped the battery harness. The I replace that and the gin still isnt working. It turns out I shorted my board some how. The i picked up a pm8 and again im changing the settings on the board and i some how managed to damage my eyes. I can not tell you how i possibly did this but i did. I dont understand why I am having such horrible luck with proto am i just stupid or what?

be more gentle. there is no reason you should be ripping battery harness or orings. I have not done either in the countless guns ive owned/worked on.Especially with electronics, theyre not suppose to break ever unless youre careless.

It probably dosent help that your username is "recklessbob"

If it makes you feel any better, I ripped my PMR's battery harness, too. Not the most robust design. I super-glued the leads on the new one, though, so that won't be happening again. As for the o-rings, they were probably old and decrepit. On the PM8, you just have to be really careful with that eye ribbon. It crimps easily.

So the o-rings were old and old and falling apart?

Good for you having the harness work with superglue, I tried that and the power would not flow.

That was the idea. Four year old gun...bought used. Who knows how long they'd been on there. Or were you just suggesting that "old and decrepit" is redundant? WHICH IT ISN'T.

How did you damage your eyes? Have you gone to your physician/optometrist about your eyes?

you broke the eyes because the eye ribbon is wicked delicate. They were mistakes, just learn from them, I have the same type of ribbon in my M7, if you bend it as you pull it out it cracks the contacts. whenever you remove a wire or a ribbon, always be sure to grab the connector and not the wire.
