Me and about 8 of my friends plan on going to LL6 we all have our own gear and whatnot and we only live 2 hours away but i was wondering how much the average cost per player would be.

Here is how you figure out how much an event will cost.

Think carefully about everything you'll be doing, from the time you leave your house to the time you get home.

You have to drive to the field (gas $$), stay at hotel ($$), pay entry to the event ($$), buy an aircard ($$), buy paint ($$), buy food ($$), buy water ($$), buy snacks ($$)

Whether it's paintball or anything else, the easiest way to calculate the cost is to figure out the travel cost first (getting to, staying at, and returning home), then add in the cost of participating in the event.

that's how I do it!

And add a little more money after you are done with travel and event fees. You never know what can happen. Mabye your car breaks down or some other unexpected thing happens.

can't you purchase your registration, paint and everything LLVI related at different times? Say, you have $50 saved, can you purchase your prereg at that time...then you get $70, you buy a case of paint at that time..just buy little by little until all that is needed is purchased? that's how I've done it the last 3 years and it worked awesome.

I'll give you a play by play of how I planned my expenses:

Foremost, I live over 900 miles away in Vermont and don't own a car and my normal paintball buddies are too lame to make the trip.

That means I either have to fly or drive. Although driving for 15 hours sucks, it is cheaper than flying and I end up having transportation once in Joliet, IL.
Renting a car for a five days costs me around $240.

For me, figuring out the approximate gas cost was one of the most difficult parts. I did find a website that calculates the approximate gas cost based on your car and trip distance Approx Gas Calculator.
I'm not sure how accurate the website is so I rounded up my gas expense just to be safe. So there's $200.

Three nights at my hotel of choice: approx. $217.

Food, unforeseen expenses, etc. : $250.

So there's $907. without considering the actual event.

LL6 event cost = (Pre-Registration $50.) + (Air $15) + ((Paint $75 per case)x4=$300) = $365

So for me it's gonna cost around... crikey! $1272.

For you and your friends, you mainly need to consider how much you'll need to spend on gas and food/water and then how much paint you'll shoot. Other than that, just assume each person will pay $65 for entry and air.

I created spreadsheet for calculating costs. I just have to find a way to put it on this thread since xls isn't allowed.

Not sure how it will work for you, I only worked on this from a tablet.

I just tried it from a different account but was ujnable to access it.

If you can tell me how to make it public or an email address to use I will.

Its best not to edit the parts in blue or on the total page. Also I suggest saving a copy so everyone doesn't mess up the original.
