I currently have a Geo 3 and currently have 300$ will have 500$ soon. I want to buy a back up/loaner marker. Even though the geo is super reliable sometimes another marker is needed.
Choices:
-Axe(maybe pro)
-Drone dx
-Etha
-Etek 4
-older markers(geos,egos,dms etc)
-other

I would just say get an etek2 or something, maybe a shocker if you can keep it running smoothly.

Axe pro is a great backup, and I have an infamous one that I will be selling shortly. ;) But definitely the Axe pro, or an Ego 10-11 would be a great backup. Both very easy to maintain and you can get a lot from them even though they are fairly cheap to get these days.

If you really want a back up why spend soo much for something you will in all honesty not need.

I have been playing for 13 years. I have pretty much never had a marker go down at the field. Much like Mike I too believe that as long as you maintain ya gear a backup is rarely if ever is needed. That being said I completely understand the desire for a few extra markers in the gear bag. That being said might I suggest getting something a bit different than ya primary perhaps a GOOD Mech (cocker or mag or eNMEy perhaps) or maybe a good pump?

I maintain my markers but every once in a while they will go down. Sometimes it may be at a tournament and I need a tournament ready marker. I used own a T2 and sold it, I was considering a nice mech for cheap 100$ electro but like I said i need a tournament ready marker.

Thanks for the input guys.

Look into a Legend or any other older poppets. They are the most reliable markers (cheap too), and if it's a backup then it's not going to be maintained as often as the gun you use every weekend. You want something you can just whip out of your gearbag the morning you get to the field when your Geo 3 became the shit that hit the fan.

Used Etek, used mini. I can spew other shit like drone dx, axe, extcy. However I have not shot those and I cant vouch for them. Eteks are my hands down pick for a backup ive shot a etek ego and a few etek3s and they just shoot the only problem ive encounter is that they shoot poorly with shitty marbs that break in everyone's markers.

I say etek 3, pretty up to date in technology, and super reliable. All you need and more in a back up for a good price.<br>

Axe pro is pretty boss. Id also look at the Dangerous Power Fusion FX, its an etek without an LPR and instead an oled board and a blade to sling trigger. I personally like it better, plus you have a plethora of color choices, including my favorites, white and black, blue and orange, and orange and black. Shame theres no teal with brown.

I think that you are looking for one go with something more unique. Try something that not a lot of people have tried. You could get a alien. I just shot one last week and it wasn't bad at all. If I were you I would try something new and out of the box:)

Were did I referance anything? And why would I?

All I was saying is if you want another gun try something drastically different that what you have.

And as for turny play psp and nppl both allow use of mech markers. And I know for a fact a well tuned x valve with ult in a mag is walkable without bounce. So you can have a damn cool ultra reliable turny capable shooter that's very different from the cookie cutter crowd.

I myself intend once/if I heal up from my injuries to work my way back into the turny scene and my primary will be my ULE Automag. I can afford any marker really but the mags always work for me and I like them. Pluse it's different these days and I like being a bit different.

I don't think I want to own a marker older than me lol. Would be cool to use.

Etek 3's are quite reliable, and you can probably find one for pretty cheap nowadays. (<$300)

I have one as my primary gun, and it has literally never broken a ball
