You'll struggle to find any gun these days that has a board that will die from rain.

Some quick reading on google suggests that the boards have a water "resistant" coating.

I saw some posts from players that say their marker has been submerged in puddles with no ill effects but as with any electronics you would want to dry it out right away.

I'd take it with a grain of salt, Bob Long owners are pretty funny guys. The fanboy comments on the BL Youtube channel made me shit out my eyeballs.

it's really a hit or miss, but that's up to the manufacture of the board. Our 1st tournament in 2012 was raining and hailing, my teammate using a G6r Fried his board from diving in puddles of water.

Everyone else was fine... its just if you are lucky or not lol

If you are that worried about it, spray some aerosol silicone on it.

I think if you are willing to dive into a puddle and potentially soak your marker, you should be prepared to have to replace something electronic. I know we have no control over the elements, but the old saying, "You've made your bed, now lie in it," comes to mind. However, this is coming from a person that does not play in national tournaments and has not invested lots of time and money into the tournament.

Yep where I work we spray our boards with silicon conformal coat, it's still not water proof but its more water resistant that what it was before. That's why my company doesn't warranty against water damage
