Well, it is a lot "newer" than another re-branded Halo. Mostly I just want to know if these internals/board could potentially be swapped into older Halos, specifically my Magnas.

They're totally different items. As far as I understand an item made by a company can be copyrighted, but not trademarked. So you could make a paintball gun called the Civic, but not start a paintball company called Honda.*

It's more like, "What can I gain from suing this company for using our name?" Empire being a paintball company, they really won't gain much. What they will do by suing Empire, however, is more publicity to Empire which could rake in sales and expand the popularity of paintball.

I don't think that looks anything like an old Halo shell, except for the shape. It's made out of a different material, you can tell that right away. It doesn't look as thin or brittle as a halo shell.
