I too am surprised that Mike likes the Etek 2 also more than the Protege. But surprise.

The packaging of the ETEK is what smokes the protege, plus I like the clamping feedneck of the ETEK2 more than the feedneck on the protege

Plus you get ALOT more choices of color with the ETEK2

The ETEK2 in my opinion is a better gun than the Protege

not nessicarily, look at the differences from the tek1 to the 2, not many, IMO the only reason they made the ETEK3 was to keep up w/ the ego10 since they made new parts which wouldn't fit on the ETEK2

will they do anything?

Most Dominate Woodsball Gun Setup-
Smart Parts SP-1 w/ Blackheart Board, Freak Back, 16" All American Barrel with APEX Tip- we tested nearly every "woodsball gun" on the market, and the Smart Parts SP-1 Blackheart continues to be the dominate leader. Features such as "on button mode swtiching" to go from semi to 3 shot, to full auto, laser eyes, amazingly smooth trigger pull, LUXE regulator, balanced feel, it's extremely accurate, quiet, and bulletproof reliable. Combine this with the whisper quiet Freak Back, .689 insert w/ the heavily Ported 16" All American Barrel and the incredible range of the Apex Tip, and you have the absolute most dominate woodsball setup on the market today.

I have to dissagree wholeheartedly. The M98C has proven itself to be the most reliable platform for woodsball ever, often outlasting the career of the player who first bought it - and then some.

there, fixed for ya Mike.

Congrats to all the winners!

I think the SP-1 has moved the 98 platform down a notch.

I'd like to see you shove a garden hose down the feedneck of an SP-1 and then use it 10mins later. That's how we clean M98's. How do you clean an SP-1?

Lol...I don't need to clean mine...

I've owned and shot many..many 98's mech, RT and E's...I'll take the SP-1 anyday over a 98...

Ask Sean Scott...He threw the SP-1 into the water....fully underwater.... No problems..YouTube vid somewhere...

you don't have to - it doesn't chop.

Mike's talking something like 50+ cases through his - ask him how many breaks he's had in the breech.

This is not a bash against you in any form, but the 98c vs. SP1 debate basically boils down to this: Laziness vs. Performance.

Yes, Tippmann provides you with a marker that can survive nuclear holocaust, but at what cost?

I don't get it - which one is lazy and which is the high performance. I find the SP1 easier to keep running - as well as higher performance.

What I was getting at was, "Sp1= Performance" while the "98c= Convenience".
This is based on the sheer indestructible-ness of the 98, and the neglect it can suffer. However a moot point that may be (never seen a f-150 loose on the field running over people's guns), It is still something you have to recognize.
