Okay, so I recently got into the sport in this summer and I started saving up for the sport. Luckily I stumbled across Mike and learned the order in which I should buy my stuff. So tell me if I did this right/good and for the prices I did. Everything is in order from when I bought it.

Gun Case: Spyder VS1 with hard gun case. I bought it at a Flea Market for 20 and it came with a upped barrel.
Goggles: Dye I4's, Bought for 60 from somebody who got a new pair for free. LNIB worn once.
Hopper: I purchased a clear Pinokio that had a cracked front nose cone for 30. Bought a new shell kit for 7.
Tank: Draxxus 68/4500 with a new hydro test last month.
Jersey: Empire Contact Blue/Black $10
Pants: Valken Redemption Blue/Black'' spent 25 on themk
Pack: Allen Paintball Products 4+1 Tank Pack
Pods: Valken Pods 1.19 each, got 7 of them.

Good buy. Saved a lot by going used. I think they have replacement cones for the pinokio front nose cone.
Pants and jerseys work but maybe after the tank you should consider buying knee/elbow pads.

BTW how do you like the valken pods? The tab is very hard to find and open.

7/10

Not bad... Buying knee and arm pads would of been a better investment before the jersey and pants especially if you like diving and all that. Jersey and pants aren't really that important since you can just use whatever other athletic gear you have for paintball meanwhile. Other then that, pretty good!

Damn good job saving money! 7/10 beginner setup.
Whenever you get the opportunity AFTER you buy your own tank, work on picking up a new marker.

Updated really. Got a Draxxus 68/4500 for 50 with 5 years on Hydro still (just retested in November) and no I bought the Jersey and pants used. Pants for 25, Jersey for 10. Next thing I'm working on is deciding if I want to get an Axe, Etek 4 or any other gun around that range really. Thank you all for the awesome feedback :D

People are gonna be up your ass about recommending the Axe.. But for good reasons. It's down to preference. Do you want to focus more on air efficiency or quietness? Axe is quieter, Etek is more air efficient. Also board programming can be a pain with the Axe's board, but I can't talk about the Etek's board but I believe it's an LED board. If you're used to the Spyder bolt system then perhaps that would make the transition easier going with the Etek, being it's an external bolt. Any whom good luck with your choice, and have a good one.

EDIT: On a side note were you looking for the AM or LT model Etek4?

In the harsh reality that is a budget baller I'm probably going to get the LT. Also because it was the most high recommended by Hustle Paintball.

You wont regret purchasing an Etek. I personally love my Etek 3, I upgraded the shit out of it (which I shouldn't have) but I like doing that sort of thing. Honestly, the etek is a bit loud but that really doesn't matter. All markers sound loud and its hard as hell to hear each other anyway. Now if you buy the Axe and buy a Boss V2 bolt the thing shoots like butter, like every one else if they just changed the ergos it would be a serious seller (more so than now :P). I now shoot a Luxe and use an Etek as backup but one thing is for sure the thing NEVER goes down. Regardless you will enjoy either one, just shoot both before you decide to buy one :)

I've actually shot both and if not all high end guns so far. At this point I feel like the Luxe 2.0 is just absolutely amazing, even if I generally like poppet valve guns better. Also, honestly, I don't care how loud a gun is. My thoughts on that are, I'd rather have a loud gun that's shooting good against somebody rather than a quite gun not shooting back at me.
