My dad has been wanting to get into paintball for a while now, and he's pretty good at it. Here's the catch. He only uses a rental gun, and he's getting pretty tired of it. So, my question is- I'm going to give him my Empire Axe (probably). What is a good gun that I should get that is like 500 and up? but try to stay under 1000. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and a good tank for snake? Is 50/4500 good? (I'm 5'6"/5'7") Once again, any help is appreciated.

The tank should be whatever is comfortable for you. As for a marker, would you like to buy new, or used? And do you prefer a poppit, or spool?

as for a gun, i would like new, but used is also perfectly fine. poppit or spool, doesnt really matter to me.

Used will always give you more bang for your buck. You can get used superguns for great prices if you look.

Things to look for:
Egos
DMs
Bob Long Vices or Marqs
MacDev Droids, or Cyborgs.
Shockers

You can find a bunch of other markers, but those are the ones I can think of off of the top of my head. It should give you a place to start.

Markerbids only sells new markers. PBnation is fine, as well as the TechPB B/S/T, and eBay. Just be careful, and check feedback. If you use Paypal be sure to use the goods option. If you do suspect, or see anything fishy, back out of the deal.

ok, good tips! Thanks! Also, what would be a good marker to buy on ans gear? My budget is over 500 but under 1000, like i said. Any help and or thoughts?

The Drone DX is a nice marker, the 2012 Reflex Rail, another Axe, or if you go to some other sites, you could get a 2012 Alien Invasion, or a Hostile Rogue.

Just realized the top of your budget was $1000. For that you are getting into some really nice markers used. Markers like Luxes, Victories, G6Rs, and Demons.
