I like the friend zone to a certain extent. You can hang out with her a lot, and you don't have to buy her expensive stuff or take her to fancy restaurants.

Also, even if you end up in the friend zone, you get hugs, which is more then you'd get if you are in the "I'm going to look at her from far away because I don't want to be friend zoned" zone.
