I know i am not the only one that has done it ..

I have taken almost any household item and thought of how i could use it for paintball.
could I use a laundry detergent thing for a caddy?
could i use a pringles lid for a speed feed?

What are some other things i can use for paintball instead of spending 20$ or more?

thanks for everyones help now start posting your ideas!!

Yeah, done the laundry bottle caddy thing. Works pretty well. I found if you take a milk jug or something like that and cut it in half and make the mouth of the jug a little wider it makes a great funnel too to load the paint.

You can also take some wire and make your constant hopper into an on demand loader. Simply wire it so that when the wire attached to the trigger touches the wire on the frame it completes the circuit and causes the loader to turn on. To clean that up a bit you can use a roller micro switch.

When I had my Shocker 4x4 I cut the battery cable and added an external on/off switch; quite handy. Works on markers that are always on once the battery is attached; not sure how many of them are still out there like that.

I've seen people use Pringles cans as pods.

You can attach small computer fans to the top of your mask and use them to keep you cool, help de-fog.

You can use egg cartons to hold extra parts and o-rings.

I made a field in my yard once using household items. Folding tables ... shed doors. Wheel barrows ... etc. Attached tarps to poles stuck into the ground. You can make "airball" type bunkers by filling trash bags with leaves, etc. You want to use this plastic tho.
I didn't get where I am today by worrying about how I'd feel tomorrow.

A buddy of mine once turned a VL200 into an electronic hopper. He took an RC motor, drilled a hole in the VL200, and mad his own paddle to move the paint around. He then used the approach I mentioned about turning it on via the trigger completing the circuit when pressed. Lesson learned was use a lower voltage battery so the motor turns slower. First time he used a 9v and his paddle made of pipe cleaner chopped some balls in the loader. He ended up using a lower powered battery (or a resistor, can't recall) and the motor turned at a more reasonable speed.

these are some top notch ideas for some cheep paintball..

we live on a country road that has alot of new houses being built and all the houses are brick. the guy that owns the skids burned them before we asked him for them, we now have our own woodsball field in our back field .. it is the perfect size for some cheep BYOP paintball

If your looking for stuff for backyard field, keep an eye for pallets. Some shipping places or stores may have some you can have if you ask. Stay away from tires if you can, they hold up great in the weather but they pool up water and it stinks and provides areas for mosquitos, also if you decide to get rid of your field you can burn wood but tires cost money to get rid of. If you don't mind having tires on your property for ever then you can check the dump and they will let you probably take for free, just won't take them back for free. Try the dump and ask the guy there if there is anything you can have for a field such as doors, tables, pallets, barrels, scrap wood, misc items. Its always fun to run up and hide behind a wheelbarrow or couch/ chair.

A three ring binder works well for storing all your manuals and other paperwork on your gear.
Rubbermaid totes work great for throwing gear into quickly, small ones work great in gear bags for keeping everything sorted.
Fishing tackle boxes work great for small parts and tools so does clear pencil pouches then you can put your allen keys with your 3 ring binder with your manuals and can grab out everything you need at once.
Old jars such as peanut butter jars work for storing misc items too such as screws, extra bolts, detents etc..

As far as a pringles lid goes for a speed feed .... your better off with a tennis ball lid the fit on tighter with really no chance of falling off

Borg has a bunch of stuff on his channel for homemade tippman mods. I use a sock and rubber bracelet for a tank cover. You can also put a computer fan on your mask to keep the fog out.

Let us know how your Apex barrel works out.

Tonight I just made a stock class hopper out of PVC pipe and now I just have to throw some paint on it and maybe rotozip a view channel up the side so I can see how much paint I have left.

we have a store around where I live called Five Below, there a chain store so you may have them in your area. Anyway here are three things you can pick up from there $5 that can help you make a few items. If you don't have a Five Below chech any discount store, TJ Max, Ross, Gabrielle's, ect. Or regular department stores since schools almost back the cases should be on sale.

Regulator Cover/Sleeve.

*Resistance band set- take the soft rubber grips off and use them as a regulator cover for a much softer better hold feel.

Gun Case

*Neoprene laptop case with zipper- You can get these cheap almost at any discount store, Ross, TJ max, Gabrielles ect. Some even have an interfoam layer about half an inch thick they work great.

Barrel Case
Posted Image
*It's a neoprene laptop case- get the biggest one you can find, I got a 14" at 5 below for $5 and have your wife, gf, mom, or yourself, sew 4 or 5 rows running up it an inch or so apart enough to hold a few different barrels

Something new I came up with the other day... I took a 6-pack cardboard beer holder and used it to hold my pods while I filled them up.

Doesn't have to be beer could be the holder for the 6-pack of soda bottles. Not sure about other brands but it held my NXE pods perfectly. I even spray painted it to give it some character.

i'm hoping to make it adjustable, but at this point it all depends if i can find the right pieces.

Try gluing some foam on the inside of the lid, its soft and flexes easy and provides more coverage over the lid.
