So when playing I have tons and tons of rollouts (I play with a pumped trilogy) I have 3 different barrels I've accumulated and they are a .693, .691, and a .689. Huge right? Usally I put tape around the end to try to hold a ball but then it makes it hard to fully pump forward and so I end up double feeding (or just crushing the paintball) attempting to fully load the paintball into the breach... Which leads to breaks which leads to anger. I am thinking of getting another barrel and was thinking a .685. Good idea? Bad idea?

Depends on your paint, I've had roll outs at .684 using empire heat. Hence the .681 microshot is my fave on my phantom ,especially since the winter is here

I run a .679 for my trilogy pump and my Karnivore. But I haven't really dealt with wet or humid conditions when playing pump or with my Karnivore.

On a more serious note, do you know roughly what bore size the paint in your area runs? I like to underbore that number by a little bit to make sure of no rollouts.

I wouldn't get any bigger than a .682 for a pump. Here in Orlando, I use .678 Lurker mostly.

Point being, you want to solve this problem once and for all. Don't get a 685.

I run a .680 back on my sniper with no problems, however if it does get really humid I bump up to the .685

.685 is a good idea, but not a great idea.

I usually use a .682 or .679 Freak insert in my Deadlywind Fibur barrels. I highly recommend them, they allow you to match the paint on the day and conditions. They are expensive and worth it.

If you are looking a one-piece barrel, the best is the LAPCO Tightstick. It is a 14” stepped barrel with a long10” .681 control bore, great porting and a great Tommy machine-gun look as well. They run about 46 bucks (including shipping) or less than half what a Deadlywind Fibur with a couple inserts.

If you can only spend $40, or do not like the look of the Lapco Barrel, then look at the Lurker Barrel, it is 14”, .678 bore (a bit tight for an only barrel), it has a 9.5 inch control bore, very good quality, very light weight, looks like crap.

If you want to spend only 30 bucks, then you are likely looking at the CP .685, not a bad choice, but if you can spend an extra 10 or 20 bucks, you have some better choices.

Breech sizers work great to prevent roll-outs, they do little to improve consistency or efficientcy.

In my area, DXS bores out at a .679-.683, therefore i use a .675 to a .679 depending on what paint im using
