That's interesting. Last time I used an APEX tip the velocity change between on/off was closer to 30 fps. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong though, or my particular APEX was defective.

Also depends on which barrel the Apex tip is on-- the crappy barrel they give you is an easy 30fps drop from any other barrel. My Apex tip on a J&J kit is about a 10fps difference at most.

I, for example, hardly ever turn it all the way on. There may not be a lot of settings, but it still matters.
