That's interesting. Last time I used an APEX tip the velocity change between on/off was closer to 30 fps. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong though, or my particular APEX was defective.

  • What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Or... you two were using different settings.

Also depends on which barrel the Apex tip is on-- the crappy barrel they give you is an easy 30fps drop from any other barrel. My Apex tip on a J&J kit is about a 10fps difference at most.

All the way on to all the way off. There aren't a lot of settings on an apex tip.

I had it running on a Freak kit. The barrel back shouldn't matter much. The tip is at the tip, and whatever effects it has to slow down the paintball would only be based on the velocity of the paintball when it reaches the tip.

I, for example, hardly ever turn it all the way on. There may not be a lot of settings, but it still matters.
