A good friend of mine hasn't been able to play for over 2 years because of working full time and going to school part time. He asked me to sell his Ion because it hasn't seen the light of day for a long time. I did some outer cleaning, but I didn't mess with the internals. There IS a leak coming from between the frame and the body. I did take out the frame screws and slide the body and frame apart, and as I did, the leak went away. It came back as I put the body and frame back into place. I'm guessing it's just because of the placement of the banjos/hoses. The marker still cycles with the leak, and the eyes work.

This would be great for converting to a mech! Sell the board and eyes for $25, and you've already cut down on the cost for a mech kit.

It doesn't sound as strong as a leaky macroline fitting does, but I don't know if it's more or less significant in terms of air loss. He's had this Ion for years, I think it's safe to say the o-rings around the banjos are probably starting to wear down.
