Me and a few friends got some railroad ties and we built a pillbox in the woods we play in, and we shingled the roof with leftover stuff, it's pretty legit. we use it for attack and defend games

Anyone have pics of different bunkers or structures built out of ties?

I think a field maze would be the coolest thing ever

that would be epic as hell.

4-6 go in, 1 comes out. B)

trust me when i say this. they absolutely suck. you get stuck in there by yourself because no one else will go and then you get shot from point blank. no thanks thats why i just go around the maze now :P

That thing would be so bad ass in scenarios. I could just imagine 2 teams having an object in that fort. 500 people going at it! Oh god.....

We did this with the ties, shingled the roof and threw dead brush on top to help waterproof it. surprisingly it stays dry inside there.

and yes i know it looks sketchy. lol

This is the former Special Ops Paintball field, now named Retribution. Not rail road ties but similar.

Then there's the famous Sherwood Forest:

There are lots of different things you can do but these might help.

Simple Lincoln log style bunkers... 2 or 3 walls each bunker. 1000 would make you a pretty big field. Adventure Beach in the Carolinas has a few of those on their firebase field.

Or you could do a "defend the wall" sort of thing, where you put 8 or 9 down in a row, then leave a space empty, then put 8 or 9 down, and so on until you have a wall with little "archer"slits.Put a flag 20 or 30 feet in front of the wall, and scatter some bunkers made of ties on their sides,so that the opposing team has to try and get the flag.

Make an Alamo!

Just bury them all vertically staggered all over the place. Could create a fun game requiring angles. I love fields where I can see SO much but have very limited shots due to angles

^ This is interesting. Even spaced out(about 6 feet or so) if you lined them up in various patterns, when approached at a specific angle they'd line up to create a wall. It wouldn't be obstructive but it'd put an interesting dynamic into the game if it was done well.

Research Sherwood Forest. I believe ALL their buildings are made of railroad ties, including the 3 STORY CASTLE. I'm sure you could find pictures around.
