Hey guys I currently have a 2011 Proto Rail. I was wondering what my next marker that I should shoot for to purchase. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you really like the proto rail, I would suggest the proto reflex rail. It's very similar in design and is a solid gun for the price.

he would be getting close to the same gun for more money... an axe or drone would be better then the reflex

While the axe does have many good points, I prefer the reflex. Now my opinion was going off of the idea that he might not want to change very much with his new gun. If he got a reflex, he wouldn't have to learn how to use an entirely new system. Now, if he does want something different, then yes, I would recommend the axe. The drone, however, I know little about so I cannot comment on it.

lol i get this feeling you might have a BIT of a bias towards the reflex rail

As for OP, used dye guns are awesome IMO. It would help to know your budget

Honestly, if you do like the Rail. I'd suggest looking into a Matrix. Maybe the PM7 or even an old DYE marker.

the dp g3 would be my choice, solid gun, really quick, i (being a newbie w/ rolling triggers) can really get on the trigger, and i can find them in the low 100's

I have used the g3,and it was a pretty rough shooter.I say get a used axe or mini.I have shot both of those and they were fairly smooth. If you have smaller hands, then get the mini and put an on/off ASA and better trigger, then you essentially have a baby axe.

I dont know your budget, but I'd wait a little while after world cup when older models drop in price a bit more. Then I sugget a $350-$500 budget and get an ego 7/8, vice, and possibly a g6r for poppits and for spools a dm9/10, geo, or nt(hit or miss).

Could always try to find a shocker, Very nice examples out there for ~300, if your looking to spend a little bit more i've absolutely fallen in love with the axe

You can also get used DM12's for around $600 now, thats a pretty great price for a great gun.

Well assuming you are going to jump into the 500ish price pool, similar options would be the reflex rail, or a used dm, I've seen Dm10s for 500 on trade my gun.For a change from the current setup, look at a vice, you can find them around 400, or maybe an old victory or marq. new look for ethas, eteks, axes, and drones.
