So in this thread tell of all the noobish things you did when you started playing paintball like calling your marker a gun, or calling paintballs BULLETS.

To start off, when I first got my Axe, I saw paint on my detents and asked people how to clean your eyes out. Yes I thought my detents were my eyes. Another time, I thought that the Tipmman 98 rentals were the best markers out there, until I saw an EGO.

I still call my marker a gun.

The only thing I can remember is the first time I used my Ego I hadn't read the manual or anything, so the bolt pin was halfway in and I though it was broken.

I used to think that a 22" barrel was the most accurate piece of shit out there. I also used to think that electronic guns were a big deal, when in reality, they are more common than a mech gun. I also used to think that Tippmanns were awesome, I still think they are pretty good if you don't mind the extra weight but they aren't an awesome tournament gun for most people.

The day I almost bought a tipmann A5 over an extcy because I was too cheap to buy a hopper and I only go to an indoor field

I was at a field with a friend and he saw a g6r. My friend said to the guy with the g6r, bro you gun shoots really fast for a mechanical. I told him it wasnt mechanical. But he refused and told me because the bolt was exposed made it mechanical. #FACEPALM

My two sons had started playing paintball and my oldest - he was about 14 and had saved up his money and bought something called a 'Smart Parts Impulse'. (It was the first model). I knew nothing about paintball at the time. The boys talked me into playing. While we were waiting for the game to start, my son said his gun wasn't working right. It would shoot, but the paintball wouldn't come out. We looked it over and had no clue what the problem was. I was afraid to touch the thing.

Then an old grizzled veteran we nicknamed 'Sarge' came over. He looked at it, shot it once. Pulled the bolt out, rotated it 180 degrees, and put it back in. The gun worked just fine after that. That was the day we learned about bolts in paintball guns.

Paintball guns are still guns to me. Markers are for writing.

I remember thinking that a hopper and a pod was enough paint to last for hours. At a 160-player big game.

That time my hopper and tank were off my marker, and I absentmindedly "dry-fired" into my own hand, thereby learning three things: always check your breech, regs can hold pressure after the tank is removed, and tweezers can be handy for pulling paint shell out of your flesh.

when i first bought my etek 3, i had no idea how poppets or speedball guns really worked. So while i was buying it, i took the bolt out and tried to put it back in, it locked in front of the rammer instead of on it. and when i gassed up and pulled the trigger, the rammer was hitting the bolt pin.

Then when i finally figured it out, and i pulled the trigger again, there was a loud pop of a dryfire inside my car (yes, we made the transaction in my car next to a park in the middle of the night).

Still kinda feel stupid about that... Posted Image

-Shot myself in the foot
-Making my C3 leak propane, because I put the spring back in the reg the wrong way tearing the rubber
-Being amazed at the accuracy on my Lapco barrel
-Being amazed at how far my Tippmann shot
-Being amazed how quiet my Etek was out the box, then realising it has bolt stick
-Pressure tester bursting out the back of my gun because I didn't press it in
-Breaking my HPR pressure tester by turning the pressure up twice what it should be
-Buying Tippmann upgrades

But my paintballs are BULLETS!!!

Posted Image

But really I lubed the delrin bolt in my Spyder VS1 not knowing that delrin NEEDS NO LUBE!!!

Actually considering buying an Ion.

Using Co2

And untill I really started getting into paintball I always thought Angels were the very best guns out there because of the Hl1 paintball mod.
