For me, the Mini feels weird and cramped, but has the better engine. You will have to be a bit more vigilant in caring for your G4, since it's a spool and will experience the drawbacks of a spool more than the Mini. If the Mini engine was put in a "normal" body that would be my ideal $300 gun, but for now I vote G4 simply because it feels normal to me.
This is a case of holding both guns and seeing which one feels better in your hands.

The Invert is great if you like to be "Light and tight"
I'm 6"3 so the mini isn't that fun to hold for me but I would still chose it because DP guns have issues.

I have a G4 and it does have it's quirks. It's still a great shooter for the price. I've heard a lot of complaints about the Mini as well as seen quite a few go down at my local field.

Have you considered the GoG eXTCy? it's in that price range and doesn't have any of the hangups of the two markers you're looking at.
