How long does it usually take for Players Club status to be granted to one who joins? i know its not going to happen instantly and stuff and Mikes post says approx. 24 hrs? is that a fair estimate? or does it usually take a little longer?

Yep, that seems about fair. I think I waited around 48 hours for mine, but its between 1 and 2 days for it to get updated :)
