I buy almost all my gear used. Paintball gear is like a car as soon as you use it half the value is out the door (dispite people who over value their gear.) Why buy a Mini when you can get a slightly used gun of a higher standard for the same price? Sure there are lemons but if you go to the right place and ask the right questions you can prevent that!

Honestly, I say used, because if they're legit, and cared for their markers, then most of the kinks should have been worked out of them, and its a heck of a lot cheaper.

I've gone used I've gone new but i just recently got a geo+ used and it shoots tits,ropes.aglets,... and it was upgraded. so i will say if you find a deal jump on it.

Buying used has allowed given me the ability to own an older supergun, as opposed to a newer mid-range marker. I like buying markers and hoppers used, soft goods I like to buy new.

I will never own a brand new marker unless I get it secondhand from someone else. No need for a new marker, my two shocker from 05 shoot just as good as any spool valve from today. My Intimidator from 2002 with 2k5'ed parts shoots just as good (if not better) than most poppets being made today also. I don't see the need to own anything brand new, its going to be played with and beaten up on the field anyway, so might as well get it at less than half the price of a new marker.

I got an Ego11 with like 5 cases through it for $450 less than it would be new. Personally I always try and buy used.

New or used depends on what I'm going to buy. Soft goods I prefer new stuff, especially these with direct skin contact.

With hardware it depends on the condition or rarity - but only because I have a good and old friend, who owns and runs a pro shop. So get I a very good discount on new stuff anyway. Sometimes he even lends me a new gun for a weekend or two to check it out. He says "When you hand it back, it will be fine tuned and shoot as good as possible - so I have an ideal presentation model."

In most cases my advice is to buy used when it comes to a gun or hopper. Of course you should be able to check if everything is ok with the stuff - or know at least somebody who can check it for you and who you trust.

Most of the guns I look for, you can't buy new regardless.
Hoppers I usually get used because they're so overpriced now.
Tanks I will only buy used if it has a very recent hydro, otherwise I prefer new.
I will usually buy new soft goods. However, they tend to be older versions that are on sale.
Masks I will always buy new. (I don't want somebody else's sweat clinging to my face.

I try to buy everything used, and used soft goods? As soon as I get them, I just throw them in the washer 2 or 3 times and they smell and look good as used.

I'll buy just about anything used. I like getting higher end gear than I can ACTUALLY afford, and if that includes masks and soft goods, so be it. I'm far, far, far from germophobic.

Used. All my guns are over 10 years old and they work fine. I do Like new mask though.
