My friends and I are forming a team but we don't know what markers to use at tournaments. Any advice?

Also, my nuts don't fit into regular paintball pants... does anyone else have this problem?

There's really no specific marker you need to use at a tournament. Usually you would need something with the tournament shooting modes like PSP, and it also needs a tourney lock, meaning a way to keep you from changing the mode on the field.

I would recommend tracking down the rules for your tournament, as it should state any special rules or restrictions, because they can differ from tourney to tourney.

I'm going to assume you and your friends are super cool guys, so it must be a pump tournament. I'd go with CCM T2s. (I'm also assuming you have gobs of disposable cash.)

Even better news is that the Invasion went to $499 brand new, and the $50 extra is worth it over the Axe in my opinion.

Is this gong to be your first tournament OP? What gear do you currently have?

Thank you guys for the suggestions. My team decided we are going to buy guns we personally prefer, and after research, I'm going with the Planet Eclipse Etha.

IMO the invasion is loads better than the etha, also easier to take care of. But I am sure you won't be disappointed with the etha.

Edit: I got the etha mixed up with the etek, if you want to spend the extra $100 for the invasion itd be worth it, but if not, the etha should be fine.

you can use guns you personally prefer till the point where you really want to get serious. At that point you will have to make a portfolio of your team and send it to your marker maker of choice and hope he'll sponsor you and give you a good price for all your markers :D

Etha is not a bad choice to start with. What league are you guys looking to play in. Just a suggestion, but I am a sponsored player from Tri-City Extreme so check out their website for the Etha and check with them about sponsorship's for the team for this season.

Find out what rule the tournament use, and make sure ur gun can be set to the shooting mode required. After that it's just a matter of how much your budget is.

Don't know much about these modern tournaments but I was recently looking at the Iron Mitten rules, this appears to be a long running league in MI my home state. It looked to me they had 2 classes of teams. A novice/beginner/low exp player Division and a Experienced Player Division (open division). In fact I saw a post from a Open Division player encouraging some of the Novice Division teams to step up this year and move up to the Open Division.

I read through some of the rules for the PSP, seems a rather complicated system for Division criteria. The Local Iron Mitten League seemed to have streamed lined the rules some. To come up with a 2 Division system.

Would this be the case for most local Tournaments? Streamlined elgibilty rules and less divisions? Without a huge number of teams coming from everywhere, it would seem to me that 5/7 divisions would be very hard to fill enough teams in a local Tournament.
