So i'll be picking up a deadlywind barrel in about a week or so. For those thinking of getting one too, check out paintballgateway.com because they are having a sale on the fibur barrels at $89.95 with a free aluminum insert. The stainless steel you have to pay $10 more, where as at ansgear you'll pay $20 for a stainless steel insert. If you're just getting the aluminum to save money than head over to that site, you'll get a free one with your barrel purchase. Or if you want a stainless steel and save $10.

Anyways I'm looking at getting maybe 3 inserts in stainless steel to use on my demon and future pump (when I actually find the one I'm looking for of course Posted Image ). I'm looking at getting a .679, a .684, and a .689..........this way I can underbore and slightly overbore depending on the paint. Does that seem good or should I also get a .691 too for those humid days?

Get all SS in .675, .679, and .684. That should cover most paint, and coincidentally the 3 back sizes on the sniper

The ones I use most often are the .679 and .682. I use the .677 occasionally if I get a super small batch of paint, and my .684 gets a little more use dirring the summer when paint can swell up due to the heat.

I say get a .679, .682, .684, and a .689 or .691 to be safe if you get a case of huge paint or its too cold to underbore.

What's your budget? You can get all of them in a case for $75 with free shipping from tri-cityextreme.com if you are willing to spend that much and then you will be all set.

Well I want the stainless steel one so I would have to pay $110 :/ but I don't think I would ever use the .693 and .695

These are what I have.
They offer the greatest range of proper underbore with the fewest inserts (ranging from .676 to .691).

I might do that but ill had a .689 in there too just in case paint swells. And to overbore a tad one day

I hear ya with not using them. I have some that I don't always use, but it is nice to have them just in case. I have had teammates use them before, so I guess it worked out :)

Ok I think I'm going to go with a .675, .679, .684.....maybe one more a .689 for winter but I should be good with those even if the paintballs swell around summer?

Actually I'm going to say with my demon they gave me a .685 one piece. So wouldn't the .684 be pointless to get in a way?

Yea it would. Skip that one and just use the stock barrel for that size.

The kit I have gets used as follows:
679 when paint is smaller
682
684
Normally paint is matching my 684 insert, so that gets used if its a big batch. I have a .687, but honestly it doesn't do much, I find myself breaking more paint with it than without it

Ok I think I got it down, .679 will be my first insert I get, than a .682, I'll use my stock .685 barrel if need be, and I'll get a .687 for colder days or for humid days. Sound good?

Honestly from what I've gathered from punk works those inserts I've recommended should be all you need unless you encounter some large ass paint in which case fine add an aluminum or SS .689 to the mix. For me it's either going to be a slight underbore or go down one size since I still see a gap and a light puff gets the ball out

Yea I watched most of their videos on youtube. I mainly just want to get 3 inserts for now so I have a base. If at some point I feel I could get a .677 or .689 than yea I'll just get another insert and I'll be set for whatever weather/paintballs I shoot. I mainly shoot field paint, which they have draxxus paint. If I get my own paint it's either valken graffiti or RPS premium/gator black. If I notice that I should get a smaller bore for my future pump than yea I'll get one smaller. But I won't know until I get it obviously  and the same goes for waiting for the weather to change so I know what bore to have ready.

I only suggest the smaller bores so your balls don't rollout, and it makes for more consistent shots

But if your demon does come with .685 bore then just get the .675, .679, and MAYBE .689

Coinsidentally the super freak kit only move in .005 increments
