If the PM8 was never heard of and released today as the PM12 would it be a revolutionary hot product? That is if it sold for around $799.

It would be a hard buy, no clamping feedneck, many other markers have better regulators.
The board would be out-dated... for a REALLY cheap marker. fo sho.

for a PM8 price... ehhhh.. thats a different issue

The going rate's under $300 so I don't think people could justify paying $500 more for the same thing.

What if it had all the new technology Dye has out now (i.e.) updated board, hyper3, Airport ASA, clamping feedneck, etc?)

It would give the AXE a much better run for its money in the mid range.

I think people would realize that it was just a DM in a Proto body, and it would significantly undercut the sales of the DM.

and this is part of the Reason they stopped this line. The PM5 was very close to the DM4/5 in performance.

It came with a clamping feedneck, just not a lever lock. What's wrong with the hyper 3? And it's basically the same board that they have in their guns today...?

I'm sure with some 2012 updates it would be amazing, but it probably won't happen for the sake of dyes sales. I still liked both of my pm8s more than any other dm9 etc. I've shot.

Really want to try a mikko pm8.

Although I like the look of the original reg more on it.

Well let's be honest here, based on performance alone there's no reason the DM line would command the price that it does. People buy them because they're pretty.

I'd probably be more willing to drop the coin on a DM if it had the LPR setup from the M8 and accompanying reduction in profile. It's actually the same configuration bob uses on the Marqs.
