Tips for cutting out sweets

So I am trying to become healthier and a few goals I have are to cut out soda and cut out candies and other sweets. I down to the occasional soda at my buddies houses but I'm having trouble avoiding cookies and candy bars. Any tips? I want to completely stop eating candy. Sunflower seeds? Other salty things?

Well if the sweets are getting to you try to but the no name brand sweets that are lower in sugar as a last resort, fruit leathers are a great alternative. Other than that fruit would be your best bet to cutting out sweets. That and some willpower :P

Dried mango, red grapes and apricots. Especially if your like me and can't simply eat a apple because of braces.

dog... honey works. if u want some candy or chocolate lick on some honey from a spoon or something. u can get creative with it if u want haha

Every time you eat a candy bar puch yourself in the groin. Eventually you will associate pain with candy so you no longer eat it! :)

Otherwise just be strong say no and dont snack.

my tick for giving up sweets is to eat sweet fruit. I've started eating a lot of bananas and kiwi personally

banana chips, or if you are excersising, get protein bars. tastes like a candy bar, but helps your workout.

the best way to cut junk out is do it slowly over time. Every week try adding something healthy, or removing something that isnt. but not everything at once.

if you can't avoid it, keep in mind that every bite after the first one, gives less and less satisfaction than the first.

Meaning - if you can't resist, take a bite, chew it slowly, enjoy it, throw the rest away

Also, lift up your shirt and take pride knowing that you just made those "love handle" just a wee-bit bigger.

Or even better, hop on the rowing machine, and see how much work it takes to burn off the 300 calories you just ate with that Snickers bar.

You just have to care.

If you cared about being healthier, you'd stop consuming shitty things like candy and soda, right this minute.

Like Mike said, it's not that satisfying in the first place - pay attention to how it feels, eating that nice, greasy pizza. After about the 2nd/3rd slice, you're not even enjoying it anymore -. You're just eating it because those first couple of pieces tasted good.

That's the point where you put the food down, go wash up, and do something else. (Paintball, perhaps? :D)
