im getting kinda sick and tired of all the focus on the gear! fuck that. its only stuff. the forums and the chat is filled with what kinda gear that gear that. its almost never talk abuot the game! and lets all be honest we love the game. the gear is just a bonus. i meen i love pb guns more the next guy. but i miss talking abuot the game. talking abuot field stuff, layouts,plays.tactics,drills, and so on.

the game is so mutch more important then the gear.

I hear ya man, part of the reason I burnt out for a bit on the forums when I got back from basic. Also the reason I'm hunting 2 end all guns, I'm getting an S6 pump in and want to get a T2 and be done with it. I also want to get a Victory and be done with it so I can just focus on the game and be satisfied with my gear.

but where do you play and how often. thats more intresting for me.

i run a field its funny to se the kids look up to players with the nice gear, but they dont look up to the guy with the crappy gear but is there every weekend.

But I agree, it's all about the gear these days.

That's why I've mostly turned to the off-topic forums. I also lurk around the pump forums because I feel that pump will eventually turn paintball away from all the petty crap seen above. But I'm sure that's just wishful thinking...

I dont really mind the gear talk online, but it annoys me when its at the field. No one cares if you have an NT you just got shot out in about 4 seconds...

I dip into the paintball chatter section every once in a while, again mostly gear talk, equipment advice I answer the questions about what gear newer players should get since they aren't hunting the latest high end. But for the most part I stick to the scenario/woodsball forum, the OT forums and Pump World along with the staff forums obviously.

Personally I think a pump league would be much more enjoyable than ramping/semi. Think about it, no bonus balling, easier to ref, more skill, more movement since lanes aren't locked down by ropes of paint.

Do what I do every couple of years for shits and grins....

I show up at a field that I never been to before for some rec-play wearing cargo pants with a t-shirt....carrying a old mech Spyder and two pringle potato chip cans for pods shoved in the pants pockets. The stares are priceless and after the first game or so you get to see the grins from the ref and players who know....priceless.

That is always fun to go back to my roots to remember where I'm coiming from. When I used to be big into running remote lines with my a-5. Couldn't find my remote line screw in at the top. So instead I used a old side 2 pod little pack that went on my hip and just used that. It was a heck of a lot lighter and a lot of fun!
