On the Frenzy 5.0 OLED board that comes with the new 2012 G6R you are able to select .50 cal mode for 4C eyes if you have them installed. Has anyone tried using .50 cal with a G6R? I'm really curious about this for Living Legends... :P

I would think you'd need a .50 conversion kit first.

Yeah that's what I was thinking after I posted this... I wonder if I could try something along the lines of the Etek conversion kit.

I think it's time to break out the calipers and micrometer and start on my next hobby project.

if 50 cal doesnt tank (which i think it might) I was thinking of doing that for my etek instead of buying the PE kit

You should at least try it. Especially in speedball, that was fun...

I might think about it...I'm toying with the idea of buying a metal mini lathe and teaching my self to use it for little projects like this

Bob started on a .50 kit for the Vic, dont know about the G6R. They got rid of it when the .50 hype died off.

Yeah I didn't know that Bob was working on a .50 kit until recently. Still seems strange that the board would have the setting if there was no use for it... Unless he knew someone would possibly tinker up something that would work with it. The breach and feed neck inserts would be easy to do and I could design it to use the PE detents possibly. Could use the PE barrel too. I just don't want to mess with making a new bolt :(.

That's why I'm designing one for my Marq, because the bolt would be super easy to make. It's just a matter of getting the PE .50 barrel, because it's the only one I know of that fits a .68 cocker threaded breech.

I bet eclipse would sell you one if you say you snapped a .50 cal barrel in a bad dive or something.
