Desktop or Laptop

And i have the option of a custom gaming desktop. Im not changing my mind on any parts but you can still recommend different ones.
Mobo: maximus v gene lga1155
Ram: corsair vengeance 8gb (2x4 gb)
Case: antec nine hundred (the one on newegg)
Gpu: xfx 2gb radeon 7850
Cpu: intel i5 3570k
Hard drive: black caviar 1 tb
Psu: seasonic 650 watt x series 80 plus gold certified modular
Optical drive: the asus one not that important
So i don't know if i should get the m17x for the mobility and gaming or the desktop for the amazing performance and gaming. The laptop won't be used as much for school as were supplied ipads. Only thing i'd need it for is my java class which is much to easy. We use the school computers and they can run bluej. Im just worried if i get the laptop i'll waste money on something i'll be using as a desktop. So, laptop or desktop?

Or build a slightly less fast desktop, and get a dinky $400 Best Buy laptop to use for Java.

I would recomend a cheaper motherboard, so you can get a CPU cool and an SSD.

NZXT cases are good in design, the metal they use isnt too good (ive owned a Phantom, the side panel was too woobly for my tastes, it still solid)
Cooler master seem to have everything down nicely, just some people dont like their designs.. very nice overall ( I currently own a Trooper)

Ps3 - SLYGATHOR (LittleBigPlanet, Burnout Paradise, Team Fortress2, Killzone 2)
Wii - 5318 0896 2208 0310
Steam - slygathore
Building a computer is like playing with Legos, the pieces only fit one way

Same case but now a asus maximus v extreme motherboard, i7 ivy bridge 3770k, corsair 750 watt, 12gb corsair vengeance, gigabyte 2gb ghz edition radeon hd 7870, and a 64gb m4 crucial ssd.
Edit: i want the motherboard to use in the future, and it has tons of things i will soon take advantage of. The case has everything i need at newegg with a great price too. Its upgraded with usb 3.0 and it looks good to. Btw forgot to mention the hyper 212 for minimal overclocking.

You have a bare/silver steel interior with a window, stupid look.
Its not the best of cases for the money.. Just saying, if your set on it.. go for it..
I like watching these guys videos, they are a bit biased, but its based on previous experience.. Not some bullshit reviews who get paid to say the product is great in every way, and get products for free..
Im pretty sure the current Antec 900 on newegg doesnt have the cpu cut out, atleast the pictures..
This should only apply if you dont alreayd own teh case..
